57 And as he walked in the road, a certain man said to him, I will follow you wherever you go. 58 Jesus said to him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of man has nowhere to lay his head.
59 And he said to another, Follow me. And the man said, Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father. 60 Jesus said to him, Let the dead bury their dead; but as for you, go and preach the kingdom of God.
61 And another said, I will follow you, Lord, but let me first go and bid farewell to the people who are at home at my house. 62 Jesus said to him, No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.

59 [b]But he said unto another, Follow me. And the same said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.
60 And Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury [c]their dead: but go thou, and preach the kingdom of God.
61 [d]Then another said, I will follow thee, Lord: but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at mine house.
62 And Jesus said unto him, No man that putteth his hand to the plough, and looketh back, is apt to the kingdom of God.
