26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:

28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.

26 From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands.(A) 27 God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us.(B) 28 ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’[a](C) As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’[b]

25 And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.

26 And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the Lord.

This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;

Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.

And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, and after his image; and called his name Seth:

25 Adam made love to his wife(A) again, and she gave birth to a son and named him Seth,[a](B) saying, “God has granted me another child in place of Abel, since Cain killed him.”(C) 26 Seth also had a son, and he named him Enosh.(D)

At that time people began to call on[b] the name of the Lord.(E)

From Adam to Noah

This is the written account(F) of Adam’s family line.(G)

When God created mankind, he made them in the likeness of God.(H) He created them(I) male and female(J) and blessed them. And he named them “Mankind”[c] when they were created.

When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image;(K) and he named him Seth.(L)

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
