36 The soldiers also mocked him, coming up and (A)offering him sour wine 37 and saying, (B)“If you are (C)the King of the Jews, save yourself!” 38 (D)There was also an inscription over him,[a] “This is (E)the King of the Jews.”
39 (F)One of the criminals who were hanged (G)railed at him,[b] saying, “Are you not (H)the Christ? Save yourself and us!”

36 The soldiers also came up and mocked him.(A) They offered him wine vinegar(B) 37 and said, “If you are the king of the Jews,(C) save yourself.”
38 There was a written notice above him, which read: this is the king of the jews.(D)
39 One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: “Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!”(E)
