The Grain Offering

‘When anyone offers (A)a grain offering to the Lord, his offering shall be of fine flour. And he shall pour oil on it, and put (B)frankincense on it. He shall bring it to Aaron’s sons, the priests, one of whom shall take from it his handful of fine flour and oil with all the frankincense. And the priest shall burn (C)it as a memorial on the altar, an offering made by fire, a sweet aroma to the Lord. (D)The rest of the grain offering shall be Aaron’s and his (E)sons’. (F)It is most holy of the offerings to the Lord made by fire.

‘And if you bring as an offering a grain offering baked in the oven, it shall be unleavened cakes of fine flour mixed with oil, or unleavened wafers (G)anointed[a] with oil. But if your offering is a grain offering baked in a [b]pan, it shall be of fine flour, unleavened, mixed with oil. You shall break it in pieces and pour oil on it; it is a grain offering.

‘If your offering is a grain offering baked in a (H)covered pan, it shall be made of fine flour with oil. You shall bring the grain offering that is made of these things to the Lord. And when it is presented to the priest, he shall bring it to the altar. Then the priest shall take from the grain offering (I)a memorial portion, and burn it on the altar. It is an (J)offering made by fire, a sweet aroma to the Lord. 10 And (K)what is left of the grain offering shall be Aaron’s and his sons’. It is most holy of the offerings to the Lord made by fire.

11 ‘No grain offering which you bring to the Lord shall be made with (L)leaven, for you shall burn no leaven nor any honey in any offering to the Lord made by fire. 12 (M)As for the offering of the firstfruits, you shall offer them to the Lord, but they shall not be burned on the altar for a sweet aroma. 13 And every offering of your grain offering (N)you shall season with salt; you shall not allow (O)the salt of the covenant of your God to be lacking from your grain offering. (P)With all your offerings you shall offer salt.

14 ‘If you offer a grain offering of your firstfruits to the Lord, (Q)you shall offer for the grain offering of your firstfruits green heads of grain roasted on the fire, grain beaten from (R)full heads. 15 And (S)you shall put oil on it, and lay frankincense on it. It is a grain offering. 16 Then the priest shall burn (T)the memorial portion: part of its beaten grain and part of its oil, with all the frankincense, as an offering made by fire to the Lord.

`And when a person bringeth near an offering, a present to Jehovah, of flour is his offering, and he hath poured on it oil, and hath put on it frankincense;

and he hath brought it in unto the sons of Aaron, the priests, and he hath taken from thence the fulness of his hand of its flour and of its oil, besides all its frankincense, and the priest hath made perfume with its memorial on the altar, a fire-offering of sweet fragrance to Jehovah;

and the remnant of the present [is] for Aaron and for his sons, most holy, of the fire-offerings of Jehovah.

`And when thou bringest near an offering, a present baked in an oven, [it is of] unleavened cakes of flour mixed with oil, or thin unleavened cakes anointed with oil.

`And if thine offering [is] a present [made] on the girdel, it is of flour, mixed with oil, unleavened;

divide thou it into parts, and thou hast poured on it oil; it [is] a present.

`And if thine offering [is] a present [made] on the frying-pan, of flour with oil it is made,

and thou hast brought in the present which is made of these to Jehovah, and [one] hath brought it near unto the priest, and he hath brought it nigh unto the altar,

and the priest hath lifted up from the present its memorial, and hath made perfume on the altar, a fire-offering of sweet fragrance to Jehovah;

10 and the remnant of the present [is] for Aaron and for his sons, most holy, of the fire-offerings of Jehovah.

11 No present which ye bring near to Jehovah is made fermented, for with any leaven or any honey ye perfume no fire-offering to Jehovah.

12 `An offering of first-[fruits] -- ye bring them near to Jehovah, but on the altar they go not up, for sweet fragrance.

13 And every offering -- thy present -- with salt thou dost season, and thou dost not let the salt of the covenant of thy God cease from thy present; with all thine offerings thou dost bring near salt.

14 `And if thou bring near a present of first-ripe [fruits] to Jehovah, -- of green ears, roasted with fire, beaten out [corn] of a fruitful field thou dost bring near the present of thy first-ripe [fruits],

15 and thou hast put on it oil, and laid on it frankincense, it [is] a present;

16 and the priest hath made perfume with its memorial from its beaten out [corn], and from its oil, besides all its frankincense -- a fire-offering to Jehovah.

The Law of Grain Offerings

‘Now when anyone presents a (A)grain offering as an offering to the Lord, his offering shall be of fine flour, and he shall pour oil on it and put frankincense on it. He shall then bring it to Aaron’s sons the priests; and he shall take from it (B)his handful of its fine flour and of its oil, with all of its frankincense. And the priest shall offer it up in smoke as its (C)memorial portion on the altar, an offering by fire of a soothing aroma to the Lord. (D)The remainder of the grain offering belongs to (E)Aaron and his sons: a most holy part of the offerings to the Lord by fire.

‘Now when you bring an offering of a grain offering baked in an oven, it shall be (F)unleavened cakes of fine flour mixed with oil, or unleavened wafers [a]spread with oil. And if your offering is a grain offering made (G)on the griddle, it shall be of fine flour, unleavened, mixed with oil; you shall break it into bits and pour oil on it; it is a grain offering. Now if your offering is a grain offering made (H)in a [b]pan, it shall be made of fine flour with oil. When you bring in the grain offering which is made of these things to the Lord, it shall be presented to the priest, and he shall bring it to the altar. The priest then shall take up from the grain offering (I)its memorial portion, and shall offer it up in smoke on the altar as an offering by fire of a soothing aroma to the Lord. 10 (J)The remainder of the grain offering belongs to Aaron and his sons: a most holy part of the offerings to the Lord by fire.

11 (K)No grain offering, which you bring to the Lord, shall be made with leaven, for you shall not offer [c]up in smoke any leaven or any honey as an (L)offering by fire to the Lord. 12 (M)As an offering of first fruits you shall bring them to the Lord, but they shall not ascend as a soothing aroma on the altar. 13 Every grain offering of yours, moreover, you shall season with salt, so that (N)the salt of the covenant of your God will not be lacking from your grain offering; with all your offerings you shall offer salt.

14 ‘Also if you bring a grain offering of early ripened things to the Lord, you shall bring (O)fresh heads of grain roasted in the fire, crushed grain of new growth, for the grain offering of your early ripened produce. 15 You shall then put oil on it and place incense on it; it is a grain offering. 16 Then the priest shall offer up in smoke (P)its memorial portion, part of its crushed grain and its oil with all its incense as an offering by fire to the Lord.
