“You might make a quick promise to do something—it makes no difference if it is bad or good. People make many kinds of quick promises. You might make such a promise and forget it.[a] When you remember[b] your promise, you must pay a fine because you did not keep it. If you are guilty of any of these things, you must confess whatever you did wrong. Then you must bring your guilt offering to the Lord for the sin you did. You must bring a female lamb or a female goat as a sin offering. The priest will do this to make you pure from your sin.

or if anyone thoughtlessly takes an oath(A) to do anything, whether good or evil(B) (in any matter one might carelessly swear about) even though they are unaware of it, but then they learn of it and realize their guilt— when anyone becomes aware that they are guilty in any of these matters, they must confess(C) in what way they have sinned. As a penalty for the sin they have committed, they must bring to the Lord a female lamb or goat(D) from the flock as a sin offering[a];(E) and the priest shall make atonement(F) for them for their sin.
