13 (A)Now if the whole congregation of Israel commits error, and the matter is hidden from the sight of the assembly, and they commit any of the [a]things which Yahweh has commanded not to be done, and they become guilty; 14 (B)when the sin [b]which they have [c]committed becomes known, then the assembly shall bring near (C)a bull from the herd for a sin offering and bring it before the tent of meeting. 15 Then (D)the elders of the congregation shall lay their hands on the head of the bull before Yahweh, and the bull shall be slaughtered (E)before Yahweh. 16 Then the anointed priest shall bring some of the blood of the bull to the tent of meeting; 17 and (F)the priest shall dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle it seven times before Yahweh in front of the veil. 18 And he shall put some of the blood on the horns of (G)the altar which is before Yahweh [d]in the tent of meeting; and all the blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar of burnt offering which is at the doorway of the tent of meeting. 19 (H)He shall then raise up all its fat from it and offer it up in smoke on the altar. 20 He shall also do with the bull just as he did with (I)the bull of the sin offering; thus he shall do with it. So (J)the priest shall make atonement for them, and they will be forgiven. 21 Then he shall bring out the bull to a place outside the camp and burn it as he burned the first bull; it is (K)the sin offering for the assembly.

22 ‘When (L)a leader (M)sins and unintentionally does any one of all the [e]things which Yahweh his God has commanded not to be done, and he becomes guilty, 23 (N)or if his sin [f]which he has committed is made known to him, he shall bring for his offering a [g](O)goat, (P)a male without blemish. 24 Then he shall lay his hand on the head of the male goat and slaughter it in the place where [h]they slaughter the burnt offering before Yahweh; it is a sin offering. 25 Then the priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger and put it on (Q)the horns of the altar of burnt offering; and the rest of its blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar of burnt offering. 26 (R)And all its fat he shall offer up in smoke on the altar as in the case of the fat of the sacrifice of peace offerings. Thus (S)the priest shall make atonement for him in regard to his sin, and he will be forgiven.

27 ‘Now if [i]anyone of [j]the common people sins (T)unintentionally in doing any of the [k]things which Yahweh has commanded not to be done, and becomes guilty, 28 (U)or if his sin which he has [l]committed is made known to him, then he shall bring for his offering a [m](V)goat, a (W)female without blemish, for his sin which he has [n]committed. 29 (X)And he shall lay his hand on the head of the sin offering and (Y)slaughter the sin offering at the place of the burnt offering. 30 And the priest shall take some of its blood with his finger and put it on the horns of (Z)the altar of burnt offering; and (AA)all the rest of its blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar. 31 (AB)Then he shall remove all its fat, just as the fat was removed from the sacrifice of peace offerings; and the priest shall offer it up in smoke on the altar for (AC)a soothing aroma to Yahweh. Thus the priest shall make atonement for him, [o]and he will be forgiven.

32 ‘But if he brings (AD)a lamb as his offering for a sin offering, he shall bring it, a female without blemish. 33 (AE)And he shall lay his hand on the head of the sin offering and slaughter it for a sin offering (AF)in the place where [p]they slay the burnt offering. 34 And the priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger and put it on the horns of (AG)the altar of burnt offering, and (AH)all the rest of its blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar. 35 Then he shall remove (AI)all its fat, just as the fat of the lamb is removed from the sacrifice of the peace offerings, and the priest shall offer them up in smoke on the altar, on the offerings by fire to Yahweh. Thus (AJ)the priest shall make atonement for him in regard to his sin which he has [q]committed, and he will be forgiven.

15 “Then he shall slaughter the goat of the sin offering (A)which is for the people and bring its blood inside the veil and do with its blood as he did with the blood of the bull. And he shall sprinkle it on the mercy seat and in front of the mercy seat. 16 (B)So he shall make atonement for the holy place because of the uncleanness of the sons of Israel and because of their transgressions in regard to all their sins; and thus he shall do for the tent of meeting which abides with them in the midst of their uncleanness. 17 Now when he goes in to make atonement in the holy place, no one shall be in the tent of meeting until he comes out, that he may make atonement for himself and for his household and for all the assembly of Israel.

24 then it will be, if it is done (A)unintentionally, hidden from the sight of the congregation, that all the congregation shall offer one bull from the herd for a burnt offering as a soothing aroma to Yahweh, (B)with its grain offering and its drink offering, according to the legal judgment, and one male goat for a sin offering. 25 Then (C)the priest shall make atonement for all the congregation of the sons of Israel, and they will be pardoned; for it was an error, and they have brought their offering, an offering by fire to Yahweh, and their sin offering before Yahweh, for their error. 26 So all the congregation of the sons of Israel will be pardoned, with the sojourner who sojourns among them, for it happened to all the people through (D)error.
