¹⁷ This is a permanent statute^(A) throughout your generations, wherever you live: you must not eat any fat or any blood.”^(B)

²⁶ Wherever you live, you must not eat the blood^(A) of any bird or animal.

¹⁴ Since the life of every creature is its blood, I have told the Israelites: You are not to eat the blood of any creature,^(A) because the life of every creature is its blood; whoever eats it must be cut off.

²⁶ “You are not to eat anything with blood in it.^[a](A) You are not to practice divination^(B) or witchcraft.^(C)

²³ But you must not eat its blood; pour it on the ground like water.^(A)

³⁴ He then said, “Go among the troops and say to them, ‘Let each man bring me his ox or his sheep. Do the slaughtering here and then you can eat. Don’t sin against the Lord by eating meat with the blood in it.’” So every one of the troops brought his ox that night and slaughtered it there.

²⁵ Therefore say to them, ‘This is what the Lord God says: You eat meat with blood in it,^(A) you look to your idols, and you shed blood. Should you then receive possession of the land?
