44 “ ‘You must get your male and female slaves from the nations that are around you. You can buy slaves from them. 45 You can also buy as slaves some of the people living among you for a while. You can also buy members of their families born among you. They will become your property.

44 “‘Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves. 45 You may also buy some of the temporary residents living among you and members of their clans born in your country, and they will become your property.
