9 “ ‘Everyone who curses his father or his mother must be put to death. He who curses his father or his mother[a] is guilty of his blood. 10 When a man commits adultery with his neighbor’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress must be put to death. 11 The man who sleeps with his father’s wife has uncovered the nakedness of his father. They must be put to death; their blood is upon their own heads.

- Leviticus 20:9 Curses his father or his mother: a death penalty for cursing a parent seems extreme, even under Levitical law. It is probable that this would be intended for serious and repeated offenses as described in Deut 21:20-21.

9 “‘Anyone who curses their father(A) or mother(B) is to be put to death.(C) Because they have cursed their father or mother, their blood will be on their own head.(D)
10 “‘If a man commits adultery with another man’s wife(E)—with the wife of his neighbor—both the adulterer and the adulteress are to be put to death.(F)
11 “‘If a man has sexual relations with his father’s wife, he has dishonored his father.(G) Both the man and the woman are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.(H)
