³ “‘If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey^(A) my commands, ⁴ I will send you rain^(B) in its season,^(C) and the ground will yield its crops and the trees their fruit.^{(D) 5} Your threshing will continue until grape harvest and the grape harvest will continue until planting, and you will eat all the food you want^(E) and live in safety in your land.^(F)

⁶ “‘I will grant peace in the land,^(G) and you will lie down^(H) and no one will make you afraid.^(I) I will remove wild beasts^(J) from the land, and the sword will not pass through your country.

The Believers Share Their Possessions

³² All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.^{(A) 33} With great power the apostles continued to testify^(B) to the resurrection^(C) of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace^(D) was so powerfully at work in them all ³⁴ that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them,^(E) brought the money from the sales ³⁵ and put it at the apostles’ feet,^(F) and it was distributed to anyone who had need.^(G)

³⁶ Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus, whom the apostles called Barnabas^(H) (which means “son of encouragement”), ³⁷ sold a field he owned and brought the money and put it at the apostles’ feet.^(I)

Doing Good to All

6 Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit^(A) should restore^(B) that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. ² Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.^{(C) 3} If anyone thinks they are something^(D) when they are not, they deceive themselves.^{(E) 4} Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone,^(F) without comparing themselves to someone else,^{(G) 5} for each one should carry their own load.^(H)

⁹ “‘I will look on you with favor and make you fruitful and increase your numbers,^(A) and I will keep my covenant^(B) with you. ¹⁰ You will still be eating last year’s harvest when you will have to move it out to make room for the new.^{(C) 11} I will put my dwelling place^[a](D) among you, and I will not abhor you.^{(E) 12} I will walk^(F) among you and be your God,^(G) and you will be my people.^{(H) 13} I am the Lord your God,^(I) who brought you out of Egypt^(J) so that you would no longer be slaves to the Egyptians; I broke the bars of your yoke^(K) and enabled you to walk with heads held high.

¹³ “‘In this Year of Jubilee^(A) everyone is to return to their own property.

¹⁴ “‘If you sell land to any of your own people or buy land from them, do not take advantage of each other.^{(B) 15} You are to buy from your own people on the basis of the number of years^(C) since the Jubilee. And they are to sell to you on the basis of the number of years left for harvesting crops. ¹⁶ When the years are many, you are to increase the price, and when the years are few, you are to decrease the price,^(D) because what is really being sold to you is the number of crops. ¹⁷ Do not take advantage of each other,^(E) but fear your God.^(F) I am the Lord your God.^(G)

³⁵ “‘If any of your fellow Israelites become poor^(A) and are unable to support themselves among you, help them^(B) as you would a foreigner and stranger, so they can continue to live among you. ³⁶ Do not take interest^(C) or any profit from them, but fear your God,^(D) so that they may continue to live among you. ³⁷ You must not lend them money at interest^(E) or sell them food at a profit. ³⁸ I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt to give you the land of Canaan^(F) and to be your God.^(G)
