⁴⁵ “Anyone with such a defiling disease must wear torn clothes,^(A) let their hair be unkempt,^[a] cover the lower part of their face^(B) and cry out, ‘Unclean! Unclean!’^(C)

⁶ Then Moses said to Aaron and his sons Eleazar and Ithamar,^(A) “Do not let your hair become unkempt^[a](B) and do not tear your clothes,^(C) or you will die and the Lord will be angry with the whole community.^(D) But your relatives, all the Israelites, may mourn^(E) for those the Lord has destroyed by fire.

¹⁷ Groan quietly;^(A) do not mourn for the dead. Keep your turban^(B) fastened and your sandals^(C) on your feet; do not cover your mustache and beard^(D) or eat the customary food of mourners.^(E)”

¹² As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy^[a](A) met him. They stood at a distance^(B)

²² And you will do as I have done. You will not cover your mustache and beard^(A) or eat the customary food of mourners.^(B)

¹⁰ “‘The high priest, the one among his brothers who has had the anointing oil poured on his head^(A) and who has been ordained to wear the priestly garments,^(B) must not let his hair become unkempt^[a] or tear his clothes.^(C)

⁶ So Jesus went with them.

He was not far from the house when the centurion sent friends to say to him: “Lord, don’t trouble yourself, for I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. ⁷ That is why I did not even consider myself worthy to come to you. But say the word, and my servant will be healed.^(A)
