18 Chúa phán cùng Mô-se, 2 “Hãy bảo dân Ít-ra-en: Ta là Thượng Đế, Chúa các ngươi, 3 Trước đây các ngươi sống ở Ai-cập nhưng các ngươi không được phép làm như dân cư ở đó. Các ngươi cũng sẽ không được phép làm những điều giống như dân cư xứ Ca-na-an mà ta sẽ dẫn ngươi đến. Chớ nên theo các luật lệ của họ. 4 Các ngươi phải vâng theo các luật lệ của ta, vì ta là Chúa và Thượng Đế của các ngươi. 5 Hãy vâng theo các luật lệ ta; ai vâng theo các luật lệ đó thì sẽ sống. Ta là Chúa của các ngươi.
6 Các ngươi không được giao hợp với các thân nhân gần. Ta là Chúa các ngươi.
7 Các ngươi không được làm nhục cha mình bằng cách giao hợp với mẹ mình. Vì người đó là mẹ ngươi, nên các ngươi không được giao hợp với mẹ. 8 Các ngươi không được giao hợp với vợ nào của cha mình [a] vì người ấy thuộc về một mình cha ngươi mà thôi.
9 Không được giao hợp với chị em gái mình, hoặc là em gái cùng cha khác mẹ hay cùng mẹ khác cha với ngươi. Dù người chị em gái đó sinh trong nhà ngươi [b] hay nơi nào khác cũng vậy.
10 Ngươi không được giao hợp với con gái của con trai ngươi hay của con gái ngươi vì chúng nó là ruột thịt với ngươi.
11 Nếu cha hay vợ của cha ngươi [c] có con gái thì người con gái đó là chị em của ngươi. Ngươi không được giao hợp với nó.
12 Ngươi không được giao hợp với cô ngươi, vì là thân nhân gần với cha ngươi. 13 Ngươi không được giao hợp với dì ngươi, vì là thân nhân gần với mẹ ngươi. 14 Ngươi không được giao hợp với bác hay thím ngươi, vì sẽ làm nhục bác hay chú mình. Hai người đó như cô dì của ngươi.
15 Ngươi không được giao hợp với con dâu ngươi, vì nàng là vợ của con trai ngươi. Không được phép giao hợp với nàng.
16 Ngươi không được giao hợp với chị dâu hay em dâu ngươi, vì họ thuộc riêng về anh em ngươi.
17 Ngươi không được giao hợp với mẹ lẫn con gái. Ngươi cũng không được giao hợp với cháu gái của người đàn bà ấy, hoặc con gái của con trai bà hay con gái bà ấy, vì là thân nhân gần của bà ta. Làm như thế là điều gớm ghiếc.
18 Trong khi vợ ngươi còn sống, ngươi không được lấy chị hay em của vợ làm vợ lẽ. Không được phép giao hợp với họ.
19 Trong khi đàn bà đang có kinh nguyệt ngươi không được đến gần đặng giao hợp, vì nàng đang bị ô dơ.
20 Ngươi không được giao hợp với vợ của người láng giềng ngươi, khiến mình bị ô dơ với nàng.
21 Ngươi không được dâng con cái ngươi cho thần Mô-léc, vì chứng tỏ ngươi không kính sợ Thượng Đế ngươi. Ta là Chúa của ngươi.
22 Ngươi không được giao hợp với đàn ông như giao hợp với đàn bà. Đó là tội lỗi gớm ghiếc.
23 Ngươi không được giao hợp với thú vật mà tự làm mình ô dơ với nó. Đàn bà cũng không được giao hợp với thú vật; làm như thế là nghịch bản tính thiên nhiên.
24 Không nên tự làm mình ô dơ bởi những chuyện bậy bạ trên đây. Sở dĩ ta đuổi các dân tộc ra khỏi xứ sở của chúng chỉ vì chúng phạm những tội lỗi xấu xa trên đây. Ta đã giao xứ chúng nó cho các ngươi. 25 Đất đã bị ô dơ, và vì tội nó mà ta phạt, khiến đất mửa chúng nó ra.
26 Các ngươi phải vâng giữ các luật lệ và qui tắc của ta, chớ phạm những tội lỗi gớm ghiếc đó. Những luật lệ nầy áp dụng cho công dân Ít-ra-en và cho cả những ai cư ngụ chung với các ngươi. 27 Trước các ngươi, dân sống trong xứ nầy đã phạm những tội lỗi ghê tởm đó, nên khiến đất trở nên ô dơ. 28 Nếu làm như thế các ngươi cũng sẽ khiến đất bị ô dơ. Đất sẽ mửa các ngươi ra như đã mửa các dân khác trước các ngươi. 29 Ai phạm những tội lỗi ghê tởm đó sẽ bị loại khỏi dân chúng. 30 Hãy giữ các mệnh lệnh ta, chớ phạm những tội ghê tởm đó, như trước các ngươi, các dân tộc khác sống trong xứ này đã phạm. Đừng tự làm mình ra ô dơ mà phạm những tội lỗi đó. Ta là Chúa, Thượng Đế các ngươi.”

18 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, (A)I am the Lord your God. 3 (B)You shall not do as they do in the land of Egypt, where you lived, and (C)you shall not do as they do in the land of Canaan, to which I am bringing you. You shall not walk in their statutes. 4 (D)You shall follow my rules[a] and keep my statutes and walk in them. (E)I am the Lord your God. 5 (F)You shall therefore keep my statutes and my rules; (G)if a person does them, he shall live by them: I am the Lord.
6 “None of you shall approach any one of his close relatives to uncover nakedness. I am the Lord. 7 (H)You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father, which is the nakedness of your mother; she is your mother, you shall not uncover her nakedness. 8 (I)You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father's wife; it is your father's nakedness. 9 (J)You shall not uncover the nakedness of your sister, your father's daughter or your mother's daughter, whether brought up in the family or in another home. 10 You shall not uncover the nakedness of your son's daughter or of your daughter's daughter, for their nakedness is your own nakedness. 11 You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father's wife's daughter, brought up in your father's family, since she is your sister. 12 You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father's sister; she is your father's relative. 13 You shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother's sister, for she is your mother's relative. 14 You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father's brother, that is, you shall not approach his wife; she is your aunt. 15 (K)You shall not uncover the nakedness of your daughter-in-law; she is your son's wife, you shall not uncover her nakedness. 16 (L)You shall not uncover the nakedness of your brother's wife; it is your brother's nakedness. 17 You shall not uncover the nakedness of a woman and of her daughter, and you shall not take her son's daughter or her daughter's daughter to uncover her nakedness; they are relatives; it is depravity. 18 And you shall not take a woman as a (M)rival wife to her sister, uncovering her nakedness (N)while her sister is still alive.
19 (O)“You shall not approach a woman to uncover her nakedness while she is in her menstrual uncleanness. 20 (P)And you shall not lie sexually with your neighbor's wife and so make yourself unclean with her. 21 You shall not give any of your children to (Q)offer them[b] to (R)Molech, and so (S)profane the name of your God: I am the Lord. 22 (T)You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination. 23 (U)And you shall not lie with any animal and so make yourself unclean with it, neither shall any woman give herself to an animal to lie with it: it is (V)perversion.
24 (W)“Do not make yourselves unclean by any of these things, (X)for by all these the nations I am driving out before you have become unclean, 25 and the (Y)land became unclean, so that I punished its iniquity, and the land (Z)vomited out its inhabitants. 26 But (AA)you shall keep my statutes and my rules and do none of these abominations, either the (AB)native or the stranger who sojourns among you 27 (for the people of the land, who were before you, did all of these abominations, so that the land became unclean), 28 lest the land vomit you out when you make it unclean, as it vomited out the nation that was before you. 29 For everyone who does any of these abominations, the persons who do them shall be cut off from among their people. 30 (AC)So keep my charge never to practice (AD)any of these abominable customs that were practiced before you, and never to make yourselves unclean by them: (AE)I am the Lord your God.”

3 After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye walk in their ordinances.
4 Ye shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein: I am the Lord your God.
5 Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am the Lord.
6 None of you shall approach to any that is near of kin to him, to uncover their nakedness: I am the Lord.
7 The nakedness of thy father, or the nakedness of thy mother, shalt thou not uncover: she is thy mother; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.
8 The nakedness of thy father's wife shalt thou not uncover: it is thy father's nakedness.
9 The nakedness of thy sister, the daughter of thy father, or daughter of thy mother, whether she be born at home, or born abroad, even their nakedness thou shalt not uncover.
10 The nakedness of thy son's daughter, or of thy daughter's daughter, even their nakedness thou shalt not uncover: for theirs is thine own nakedness.
11 The nakedness of thy father's wife's daughter, begotten of thy father, she is thy sister, thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.
12 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father's sister: she is thy father's near kinswoman.
13 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother's sister: for she is thy mother's near kinswoman.
14 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father's brother, thou shalt not approach to his wife: she is thine aunt.
15 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy daughter in law: she is thy son's wife; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.
16 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy brother's wife: it is thy brother's nakedness.
17 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of a woman and her daughter, neither shalt thou take her son's daughter, or her daughter's daughter, to uncover her nakedness; for they are her near kinswomen: it is wickedness.
18 Neither shalt thou take a wife to her sister, to vex her, to uncover her nakedness, beside the other in her life time.
19 Also thou shalt not approach unto a woman to uncover her nakedness, as long as she is put apart for her uncleanness.
20 Moreover thou shalt not lie carnally with thy neighbour's wife, to defile thyself with her.
21 And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the fire to Molech, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the Lord.
22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
23 Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion.
24 Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you:
25 And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.
26 Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you:
27 (For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled;)
28 That the land spue not you out also, when ye defile it, as it spued out the nations that were before you.
29 For whosoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit them shall be cut off from among their people.
30 Therefore shall ye keep mine ordinance, that ye commit not any one of these abominable customs, which were committed before you, and that ye defile not yourselves therein: I am the Lord your God.

18 The Lord said to Moses, 2 “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘I am the Lord your God.(A) 3 You must not do as they do in Egypt, where you used to live, and you must not do as they do in the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you. Do not follow their practices.(B) 4 You must obey my laws(C) and be careful to follow my decrees.(D) I am the Lord your God.(E) 5 Keep my decrees and laws,(F) for the person who obeys them will live by them.(G) I am the Lord.
6 “‘No one is to approach any close relative to have sexual relations. I am the Lord.
7 “‘Do not dishonor your father(H) by having sexual relations with your mother.(I) She is your mother; do not have relations with her.
8 “‘Do not have sexual relations with your father’s wife;(J) that would dishonor your father.(K)
9 “‘Do not have sexual relations with your sister,(L) either your father’s daughter or your mother’s daughter, whether she was born in the same home or elsewhere.(M)
10 “‘Do not have sexual relations with your son’s daughter or your daughter’s daughter; that would dishonor you.
11 “‘Do not have sexual relations with the daughter of your father’s wife, born to your father; she is your sister.
12 “‘Do not have sexual relations with your father’s sister;(N) she is your father’s close relative.
13 “‘Do not have sexual relations with your mother’s sister,(O) because she is your mother’s close relative.
14 “‘Do not dishonor your father’s brother by approaching his wife to have sexual relations; she is your aunt.(P)

17 “‘Do not have sexual relations with both a woman and her daughter.(T) Do not have sexual relations with either her son’s daughter or her daughter’s daughter; they are her close relatives. That is wickedness.
18 “‘Do not take your wife’s sister(U) as a rival wife and have sexual relations with her while your wife is living.
19 “‘Do not approach a woman to have sexual relations during the uncleanness(V) of her monthly period.(W)
20 “‘Do not have sexual relations with your neighbor’s wife(X) and defile yourself with her.
21 “‘Do not give any of your children(Y) to be sacrificed to Molek,(Z) for you must not profane the name of your God.(AA) I am the Lord.(AB)
22 “‘Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman;(AC) that is detestable.(AD)
23 “‘Do not have sexual relations with an animal and defile yourself with it. A woman must not present herself to an animal to have sexual relations with it; that is a perversion.(AE)
24 “‘Do not defile yourselves in any of these ways, because this is how the nations that I am going to drive out before you(AF) became defiled.(AG) 25 Even the land was defiled;(AH) so I punished it for its sin,(AI) and the land vomited out its inhabitants.(AJ) 26 But you must keep my decrees and my laws.(AK) The native-born and the foreigners residing among you must not do any of these detestable things, 27 for all these things were done by the people who lived in the land before you, and the land became defiled. 28 And if you defile the land,(AL) it will vomit you out(AM) as it vomited out the nations that were before you.
29 “‘Everyone who does any of these detestable things—such persons must be cut off from their people. 30 Keep my requirements(AN) and do not follow any of the detestable customs that were practiced before you came and do not defile yourselves with them. I am the Lord your God.(AO)’”
