¹² “‘Do not swear falsely^(A) by my name^(B) and so profane^(C) the name of your God. I am the Lord.

⁶ They must be holy to their God^(A) and must not profane the name of their God.^(B) Because they present the food offerings to the Lord,^(C) the food of their God,^(D) they are to be holy.^(E)

²⁶ Her priests do violence to my law^(A) and profane my holy things; they do not distinguish between the holy and the common;^(B) they teach that there is no difference between the unclean and the clean;^(C) and they shut their eyes to the keeping of my Sabbaths, so that I am profaned^(D) among them.^(E)

²⁰ And wherever they went among the nations they profaned^(A) my holy name, for it was said of them, ‘These are the Lord’s people, and yet they had to leave his land.’^(B)

¹² “But you profane it by saying, ‘The Lord’s table^(A) is defiled,’ and, ‘Its food^(B) is contemptible.’
