Endagaano Enkadde nʼEndagaano Empya
12 (A)Efulayimu alya mpewo;
agoba empewo ez’ebuvanjuba olunaku lwonna,
era bongera ku bulimba ne ku ttemu.
Bakola endagaano n’Obwasuli,
n’aweereza n’amafuta e Misiri.
2 (B)Mukama alina ensonga ne Yuda,
era alibonereza Yakobo ng’engeri ze bwe ziri.
Amusasule ng’ebikolwa bye bwe biri.
3 (C)Bwe yali mu lubuto lwa nnyina yakwata muganda we ku kisinziiro,
ne mu bukulu bwe n’ameggana ne Katonda.
4 (D)Yameggana ne malayika n’amuwangula,
n’akaaba n’amwegayirira.
Yamusisinkana e Beseri,
n’ayogera naye.
5 (E)Mukama Katonda ow’Eggye,
Mukama ly’erinnya lye erijjukirwa.
6 (F)Naye oteekwa okudda eri Katonda wo;
kuuma okwagala n’obwenkanya,
olindirirenga Katonda wo ennaku zonna.
7 (G)Omusuubuzi akozesa ebipimo eby’obulimba,
era anyumirwa okukumpanya.
8 (H)Efulayimu yeewaana ng’ayogera nti,
“Ndi mugagga nnyo, nfunye ebintu bingi.
Mu bugagga bwange bwonna, tebayinza kundabamu kibi
wadde okwonoona kwonna.”
9 (I)Nze Mukama Katonda wo,
eyakuggya mu Misiri;
ndikuzzaayo n’obeera mu weema nate,
nga mu nnaku ez’embaga ezaalagirwa.
10 (J)Nayogera eri bannabbi,
ne mbawa okwolesebwa kungi,
ne mbagerera engero nga mpita mu bo.
11 (K)Gireyaadi butali butuukirivu
era n’abantu baamu butaliimu.
Mu Gireyaadi basalirayo ente ennume ne baziwaayo nga ssaddaaka,
era ebyoto byabwe binaaba ng’entuumo ey’amayinja mu nnimiro ennime.
12 (L)Yakobo yaddukira mu nsi ya Alamu;[a]
Isirayiri yaweereza okufuna omukazi,
era okumufuna yalundanga ndiga.
13 (M)Mukama yakozesa nnabbi okuggya Isirayiri mu Misiri,
era n’akozesa nnabbi okumukuuma.
14 (N)Naye Efulayimu amusoomoozezza era amusunguwazizza,
Mukama we kyaliva amutekako omusango olw’omusaayi gwe yayiwa,
n’amusasula olw’obunyoomi bwe.

12 Ephraim chases[a] the wind(A)
and pursues the east wind.(B)
He continually multiplies lies and violence.
He makes a covenant with Assyria,(C)
and olive oil is carried to Egypt.(D)
2 The Lord also has a dispute with Judah.
He is about to punish Jacob according to his conduct;(E)
he will repay him based on his actions.
3 In the womb he grasped his brother’s heel,(F)
and as an adult he wrestled with God.(G)
4 Jacob struggled with the angel and prevailed;
he wept and sought his favour.(H)
He found him at Bethel,(I)
and there he spoke with him.[b](J)
5 The Lord is the God of Armies;
the Lord is his name.(K)
6 But you must return to your God.(L)
Maintain love and justice,(M)
and always put your hope in God.(N)
7 A merchant loves to extort(O)
with dishonest scales in his hands.(P)
8 But Ephraim thinks,
‘How rich I have become;(Q)
I made it all myself.
In all my earnings,
no one can find any iniquity in me(R)
that I can be punished for! ’[c]
Judgement on Apostate Israel
9 I have been the Lord your God
ever since[d] the land of Egypt.(S)
I will make you live in tents again,(T)
as in the festival days.
10 I will speak through the prophets(U)
and grant many visions;
I will give parables through the prophets.(V)
11 Since Gilead is full of evil,(W)
they will certainly come to nothing.
They sacrifice bulls in Gilgal;(X)
even their altars will be like piles of rocks(Y)
on the furrows of a field.
Further Indictment of Jacob’s Heirs
12 Jacob fled to the territory of Aram.(Z)
Israel worked to earn a wife;(AA)
he tended flocks for a wife.(AB)
13 The Lord brought Israel from Egypt by a prophet,(AC)
and Israel was tended by a prophet.

12 “以法莲吃风，
整天追赶东风，
增添虚谎和强暴。
他们与亚述结盟，

2 耶和华与犹大争辩；
他必照雅各所行的惩罚他，
按他所作的报应他。
3 他在母腹中抓住他哥哥的脚跟，
壮年的时候又与 神角力。
4 他与天使角力，并且得胜；
他哀哭，向他求恩。
他在伯特利遇见 神，
神在那里对他说话。
5 耶和华是万军的 神，
耶和华是他的名号。
6 所以你要靠着你的 神归回，
谨守忠信和公平，
常常等候你的 神。
斥责以法莲的罪行及其重罚
7 以色列是个商人，手里拿着诡诈的天平，喜爱欺压别人。
8 以法莲说：“我成了富翁，
我为自己发了财；
在我所有的收益中，
人不能找出我有甚么罪孽，可算为罪恶的。”
9 “自从你出埃及地以来，
我就是耶和华你的 神；
我必使你再住在帐棚里，
像在节日的日子一样，
10 我曾对先知说话，
加添许多异象；
又藉先知说比喻。
11 在基列仍有罪孽，
他们实在是没有价值的。
他们在吉甲献牛犊为祭，
他们的祭坛好象田间犁沟中的石堆。”
12 从前雅各逃到亚兰地，
以色列为得妻子而作工，
为得妻子而替人放羊。
13 后来，耶和华借着一位先知把以色列从埃及领上来，
也借着一位先知，以色列得蒙看顾。
14 以法莲大大地惹了主的烈怒，
所以，他的主把他流人血的罪归到他身上，把他当受的羞辱归给他。
