¹⁸ When Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called the lords of the Philistines, saying, “Come up again, for he has told me all his heart.” Then the lords of the Philistines came up to her and brought ^(A)the money in their hands.

¹⁰ For the love of money is a root of ^(A)all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.

¹⁵ and said, “What will you give me if I deliver him over to you?” And they ^(A)paid him ^(B)thirty pieces of silver.

⁵ And ^(A)the lords of the Philistines came up to her and said to her, ^(B)“Seduce him, and see where his great strength lies, and by what means we may overpower him, that we may bind him to ^(C)humble him. And we will each give you 1,100 pieces of silver.”

⁵ For you may be sure of this, that ^(A)everyone who is sexually immoral or impure, or who is covetous (^(B)that is, an idolater), has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.

²⁰ Ahab said to Elijah, ^(A)“Have you found me, O my enemy?” He answered, “I have found you, because ^(B)you have sold yourself to do what is evil in the sight of the Lord.
