⁷ And Adoni-bezek said, “Seventy kings with their thumbs and their big toes cut off ^(A)used to pick up scraps under my table. ^(B)As I have done, so God has repaid me.” And they brought him to Jerusalem, and he died there.

³³ And Samuel said, ^(A)“As your sword has made women childless, so shall your mother be childless among women.” And Samuel hacked Agag to pieces before the Lord ^(B)in Gilgal.

^(C)Here is a call for the endurance and faith of the saints.

¹³ For ^(A)judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

Judging Others

^37 (A)(B)“Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; ^(C)forgive, and you will be forgiven; ^38 (D)give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put ^(E)into your lap. For ^(F)with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”

Judging Others

7 ^(A)“Judge not, that you be not judged. ^2 (B)For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and ^(C)with the measure you use it will be measured to you.

¹⁹ If anyone injures his neighbor, ^(A)as he has done it shall be done to him, ²⁰ fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth; whatever injury he has given a person shall be given to him. ^21 (B)Whoever kills an animal shall make it good, ^(C)and whoever kills a person shall be put to death.

¹⁵ They show that the work of the law is ^(A)written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness, and their conflicting thoughts accuse or even excuse them

²³ But if there is harm,^[a] then you shall pay ^(A)life for life, ^24 (B)eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, ²⁵ burn for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.
