⁴ Then Judah went up and the Lord gave the Canaanites and the Perizzites into their hand, and they defeated 10,000 of them at Bezek.

⁸ When he mustered them at ^(A)Bezek, ^(B)the people of Israel were three hundred thousand, and the men of Judah thirty thousand.

¹⁵ And when he had come to the king, the king said to him, “Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall we refrain?” And he answered him, “Go up and triumph; the Lord will give it into the hand of the king.”

⁶ Then the king of Israel ^(A)gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said to them, “Shall I go to battle against Ramoth-gilead, or shall I refrain?” And they said, “Go up, for the Lord will give it into the hand of the king.”

⁴⁶ This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you down and cut off your head. ^(A)And I will give the dead bodies of the host of the Philistines this day ^(B)to the birds of the air and to the wild beasts of the earth, ^(C)that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel, ⁴⁷ and that all this assembly may know that ^(D)the Lord saves not with sword and spear. ^(E)For the battle is the Lord's, and he will give you into our hand.”

¹⁰ But if they say, ‘Come up to us,’ then we will go up, for the Lord has given them into our hand. And this shall be the sign to us.”

⁶ Jonathan said to the young man who carried his armor, “Come, let us go over to the garrison of these ^(A)uncircumcised. It may be that the Lord will work for us, ^(B)for nothing can hinder the Lord from saving by many or by few.”

⁶ And the Lord said to Joshua, ^(A)“Do not be afraid of them, for tomorrow at this time I will give over all of them, slain, to Israel. You shall ^(B)hamstring their horses and burn their ^(C)chariots with fire.” ⁷ So Joshua and all his warriors came ^(D)suddenly against them by the waters of Merom and fell upon them. ⁸ And the Lord gave them into the hand of Israel, who struck them and chased them as far as ^(E)Great Sidon and ^(F)Misrephoth-maim, and eastward as far as the Valley of ^(G)Mizpeh. And they struck them until he left none remaining.

⁸ And the Lord said to Joshua, ^(A)“Do not fear them, for I have given them into your hands. ^(B)Not a man of them shall stand before you.” ⁹ So Joshua came upon them suddenly, having marched up all night from Gilgal. ^10 (C)And the Lord threw them into a panic before Israel, who^[a] struck them with a great blow at Gibeon and chased them by the way of ^(D)the ascent of Beth-horon and struck them as far as Azekah and Makkedah.

³ Know therefore today that he who ^(A)goes over before you ^(B)as a consuming fire is the Lord your God. He will destroy them and subdue them before you. ^(C)So you shall drive them out and make them perish quickly, as the Lord has promised you.
