²⁰ But you, beloved, ^(A)building yourselves up in your most holy faith and ^(B)praying in the Holy Spirit,

¹⁸ praying ^(A)at all times ^(B)in the Spirit, ^(C)with all prayer and supplication. To that end, ^(D)keep alert with all perseverance, making ^(E)supplication for all the saints,

²⁶ Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For ^(A)we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but ^(B)the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. ²⁷ And ^(C)he who searches hearts knows what is ^(D)the mind of the Spirit, because^[a] the Spirit ^(E)intercedes for the saints ^(F)according to the will of God.

¹⁵ What am I to do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will pray with my mind also; ^(A)I will sing praise with my spirit, but I will ^(B)sing with my mind also.

^7 (A)rooted and ^(B)built up in him and ^(C)established in the faith, just ^(D)as you were taught, abounding ^(E)in thanksgiving.

⁴ The one who speaks in a tongue builds up himself, but the one who prophesies builds up the church. ⁵ Now I want you all to speak in tongues, but ^(A)even more to prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless someone interprets, so that the church may be built up.

¹¹ Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.

Orderly Worship

²⁶ What then, brothers? When you come together, each one has ^(A)a hymn, ^(B)a lesson, ^(C)a revelation, ^(D)a tongue, or ^(E)an interpretation. ^(F)Let all things be done for building up.

¹⁵ For ^(A)you did not receive ^(B)the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of ^(C)adoption as sons, by whom we cry, ^(D)“Abba! Father!”
