4 Nang maalaman nga ng Panginoon na nabalitaan ng mga Fariseo na si Jesus ay gumagawa at bumabautismo ng lalong maraming alagad kay sa kay Juan
2 (bagaman hindi bumabautismo si Jesus, kundi ang kaniyang mga alagad),
3 Nilisan niya ang (A)Judea, at naparoong (B)muli sa Galilea.
4 At kinakailangang magdaan siya sa Samaria.
5 Sumapit nga siya sa isang bayan ng Samaria, na tinatawag na Sicar, malapit sa bahagi ng lupang (C)ibinigay ni Jacob kay Jose na kaniyang anak:
6 At naroon ang balon ni Jacob. Si Jesus nga, nang napapagod na sa kaniyang paglalakbay, ay naupong gayon sa tabi ng balon. Magiikaanim na nga ang oras.
7 Dumating ang isang babaing taga Samaria upang umigib ng tubig: sa kaniya'y sinabi ni Jesus, Painumin mo ako.
8 Sapagka't napasa bayan ang kaniyang mga alagad upang magsibili ng pagkain.
9 Sinabi nga sa kaniya ng babaing Samaritana, Paano ngang ikaw, na isang Judio, ay humingi ng maiinom sa akin, na ako'y babaing Samaritana? (Sapagka't hindi nangakikipagusap (D)ang mga Judio sa mga Samaritano.)
10 Sumagot si Jesus at sa kaniya'y sinabi, Kung napagkikilala mo ang kaloob ng Dios, at kung sino ang sa iyo'y nagsasabi, Painumin mo ako; ikaw ay hihingi sa kaniya, at ikaw ay bibigyan niya (E)ng tubig na buhay.
11 Sinabi sa kaniya ng babae, Ginoo, wala kang sukat isalok ng tubig, at malalim ang balon: saan nga naroon ang iyong tubig na buhay?
12 Dakila ka pa baga sa aming amang si Jacob, na sa ami'y nagbigay ng balon, at dito'y uminom siya, at ang kaniyang mga anak, at ang kaniyang mga hayop?
13 Sumagot si Jesus at sinabi sa kaniya, Ang bawa't uminom ng tubig na ito ay muling mauuhaw:
14 Datapuwa't (F)ang sinomang umiinom ng tubig na sa kaniya'y aking ibibigay ay hindi mauuhaw magpakailan man; nguni't ang tubig na sa kaniya'y aking ibibigay ay magiging isang balon ng tubig na bubukal sa (G)kabuhayang walang hanggan.
15 Sinabi sa kaniya ng babae, (H)Ginoo, ibigay mo sa akin ang tubig na ito, upang ako'y huwag mauhaw, ni pumarito man sa ganito kalayo upang umigib pa.
16 Sinabi sa kaniya ni Jesus, Humayo ka, tawagin mo ang iyong asawa, at pumarito ka.
17 Sumagot ang babae at sinabi sa kaniya, Wala akong asawa. Sinabi sa kaniya ni Jesus, Mabuti ang pagkasabi mo, Wala akong asawa:
18 Sapagka't nagkaroon ka na ng limang asawa; at ang nasa iyo ngayon ay hindi mo asawa: dito'y sinabi mo ang katotohanan.
19 Sinabi sa kaniya ng babae, Ginoo, (I)napaghahalata kong ikaw ay isang propeta.
20 Nagsisamba ang aming mga magulang sa bundok na (J)ito; at sinasabi ninyo, na (K)sa Jerusalem ay siyang dakong kinakailangang pagsambahan ng mga tao.
21 Sa kaniya'y sinabi ni Jesus, Babae, paniwalaan mo ako, na dumarating ang oras, (L)na kahit sa bundok na ito, ni sa Jerusalem, ay hindi ninyo sasambahin ang Ama.
22 Sinasamba ninyo (M)ang hindi ninyo nalalaman: sinasamba namin ang nalalaman namin; (N)sapagka't ang kaligtasan ay nanggagaling sa mga Judio.
23 Datapuwa't dumarating ang oras, at ngayon nga, na sasambahin ng mga tunay na mananamba ang Ama sa (O)espiritu at (P)katotohanan: sapagka't hinahanap ng Ama ang mga gayon na maging mananamba sa kaniya.
24 Ang Dios ay Espiritu: at ang mga sa kaniya'y nagsisisamba ay kinakailangang magsisamba sa espiritu at sa katotohanan.
25 Sinabi sa kaniya ng babae, Nalalaman ko na paririto (Q)ang Mesias (ang tinatawag na Cristo): na pagparito niya, ay ipahahayag niya (R)sa amin ang lahat ng mga bagay.
26 Sinabi sa kaniya ni Jesus, Ako na nagsasalita sa iyo ay siya nga.
27 At sa ganito'y nagsidating ang kaniyang mga alagad; at sila'y nangagtaka na siya'y nakikipagsalitaan sa isang babae; gayon ma'y walang taong nagsabi, Ano ang iyong hinahanap? o, Bakit nakikipagsalitaan ka sa kaniya?
28 Sa gayo'y iniwan ng babae ang kaniyang banga ng tubig, at napasa bayan, at sinabi sa mga tao,
29 Magsiparito kayo, tingnan ninyo ang isang lalake, (S)na nagsabi sa akin ng lahat ng mga bagay na aking ginawa: mangyayari kayang ito ang Cristo?
30 Nagsilabas sila sa bayan, at nagsisiparoon sa kaniya.
31 Samantala ay ipinamamanhik sa kaniya ng mga alagad, na nangagsasabi, Rabi, (T)kumain ka.
32 Datapuwa't sinabi niya sa kanila, Ako'y may pagkaing kakanin na hindi ninyo nalalaman.
33 Ang mga alagad nga ay nangagsangusapan, May tao kayang nagdala sa kaniya ng pagkain?
34 Sinabi sa kanila ni Jesus, (U)Ang pagkain ko ay ang aking gawin ang kalooban ng sa akin ay nagsugo, at tapusin ang kaniyang gawa.
35 Hindi baga sinasabi ninyo, May apat na buwan pa, at saka darating ang pagaani? narito, sa inyo'y aking sinasabi, Itanaw ninyo ang inyong mga mata, at inyong tingnan ang mga bukid, (V)na mapuputi na upang anihin.
36 Ang umaani ay tumatanggap ng upa, at nagtitipon ng bunga sa buhay na walang hanggan; upang (W)ang naghahasik (X)at ang umaani ay mangagalak kapuwa.
37 Sapagka't dito'y totoo ang kasabihan, Isa ang naghahasik, at iba ang umaani.
38 Kayo'y sinugo ko upang anihin ang hindi ninyo pinagpagalan: iba ang nangagpagal, at (Y)kayo'y siyang nagsipasok sa kanilang pinagpagalan.
39 At marami sa mga Samaritano sa bayang (Z)yaon ang sa kaniya'y nagsisampalataya dahil sa salita ng babae, na nagpatotoo, Sinabi niya sa akin ang lahat ng mga bagay na aking ginawa.
40 Kaya nang sa kaniya'y magsidating ang mga Samaritano, ay sa kaniya'y ipinamanhik nila na matira sa kanila: at siya'y natira roong dalawang araw.
41 At lalo pang marami ang mga nagsisampalataya sa kaniya dahil sa kaniyang salita;
42 At sinabi nila sa babae, Ngayo'y nagsisisampalataya kami, hindi dahil sa iyong pananalita: sapagka't (AA)kami rin ang nakarinig, at nalalaman naming ito nga ang Tagapagligtas ng sanglibutan.
43 At pagkaraan ng (AB)dalawang araw ay umalis siya doon at napasa Galilea.
44 Sapagka't si (AC)Jesus din ang nagpatotoo, na ang isang propeta ay walang kapurihan sa kaniyang sariling lupain.
45 Kaya nang siya'y dumating sa Galilea, ay tinanggap (AD)siya ng mga Galileo, (AE)nang kanilang mangakita ang lahat ng mga bagay na kaniyang ginawa sa Jerusalem sa kapistahan: sapagka't sila man ay nagsiparoon din sa kapistahan.
46 Naparoon ngang muli (AF)siya sa Cana ng Galilea, na doo'y kaniyang pinapaging alak ang tubig. At naroroon ang isang mahal na tao, na ang kaniyang anak na lalake ay may-sakit sa Capernaum.
47 Nang mabalitaan niya na si Jesus ay dumating sa Galilea na mula sa Judea, ay naparoon siya sa kaniya, at ipinamanhik sa kaniya na siya'y lumusong, at pagalingin ang kaniyang anak na lalake; sapagka't siya'y naghihingalo.
48 Sinabi nga sa kaniya ni Jesus, (AG)Malibang kayo'y mangakakita ng mga tanda at mga kababalaghan, ay hindi kayo magsisipaniwala sa anomang paraan.
49 Ang mahal na tao ay nagsabi sa kaniya, Ginoo, lumusong ka bago mamatay ang aking anak.
50 Sinabi sa kaniya ni Jesus, Yumaon ka ng iyong lakad; buhay ang anak mo. Pinaniwalaan ng lalake ang salitang sinalita sa kaniya ni Jesus, at siya'y yumaon sa kaniyang lakad.
51 At samantalang siya'y lumulusong, ay sinalubong siya ng kaniyang mga alipin, na nangagsasabi, na ang kaniyang anak ay buhay.
52 Itinanong nga niya sa kanila ang oras nang siya'y pasimulan ng paggaling. Sa kaniya nga'y kanilang sinabi, Kahapon nang ikapitong oras inibsan siya ng lagnat.
53 Naunawa nga ng ama na sa oras na yaon nang sabihin sa kaniya ni Jesus, Buhay ang anak mo: at siya'y sumampalataya, at ang kaniyang buong sangbahayan.
54 (AH)Ito nga ang muling pangalawang tanda na ginawa ni Jesus, nang siya'y pumaroon sa Galilea na mula sa Judea.

A mulher samaritana junto ao poço
4 Jesus[a] sabia que os fariseus tinham ouvido dizer que ele batizava e fazia mais discípulos que João, 2 embora Jesus mesmo não os batizasse, e sim seus discípulos. 3 Assim, deixou a Judeia e voltou para a Galileia.
4 No caminho, teve de passar por Samaria. 5 Chegou ao povoado samaritano de Sicar, perto do campo que Jacó tinha dado a seu filho José. 6 O poço de Jacó ficava ali, e Jesus, cansado da longa caminhada, sentou-se junto ao poço, por volta do meio-dia. 7 Pouco depois, uma mulher samaritana veio tirar água, e Jesus lhe disse: “Por favor, dê-me um pouco de água para beber”. 8 Naquele momento, seus discípulos tinham ido ao povoado comprar comida.
9 A mulher ficou surpresa, pois os judeus se recusam a ter qualquer contato com os samaritanos. “Você é judeu, e eu sou uma mulher samaritana”, disse ela a Jesus. “Como é que me pede água para beber?”
10 Jesus respondeu: “Se ao menos você soubesse que presente Deus tem para você e com quem está falando, você me pediria e eu lhe daria água viva”.
11 “Mas você não tem corda nem balde, e o poço é muito fundo”, disse ela. “De onde tiraria essa água viva? 12 Além do mais, você se considera mais importante que nosso antepassado Jacó, que nos deu este poço? Como pode oferecer água melhor que esta que Jacó, seus filhos e seus animais bebiam?”
13 Jesus respondeu: “Quem bebe desta água logo terá sede outra vez, 14 mas quem bebe da água que eu dou nunca mais terá sede. Ela se torna uma fonte que brota dentro dele e lhe dá a vida eterna”.
15 “Por favor, senhor, dê-me dessa água!”, disse a mulher. “Assim eu nunca mais terei sede nem precisarei vir aqui para tirar água.”
16 “Vá buscar seu marido”, disse Jesus.
17 “Não tenho marido”, respondeu a mulher.
Jesus disse: “É verdade. Você não tem marido, 18 pois teve cinco maridos e não é casada com o homem com quem vive agora. Certamente você disse a verdade”.
19 “O senhor deve ser profeta”, disse a mulher. 20 “Então diga-me: por que os judeus insistem que Jerusalém é o único lugar de adoração, enquanto nós, os samaritanos, afirmamos que é aqui, no monte Gerizim,[b] onde nossos antepassados adoraram?”
21 Jesus respondeu: “Creia em mim, mulher, está chegando a hora em que já não importará se você adora o Pai neste monte ou em Jerusalém. 22 Vocês, samaritanos, sabem muito pouco a respeito daquele a quem adoram. Nós adoramos com conhecimento, pois a salvação vem por meio dos judeus. 23 Mas está chegando a hora, e de fato já chegou, em que os verdadeiros adoradores adorarão o Pai em espírito e em verdade.[c] O Pai procura pessoas que o adorem desse modo. 24 Pois Deus é Espírito, e é necessário que seus adoradores o adorem em espírito e em verdade”.
25 A mulher disse: “Eu sei que o Messias (aquele que é chamado Cristo) virá. Quando vier, ele nos explicará tudo”.
26 Então Jesus lhe disse: “Sou eu, o que fala com você!”.
27 Naquele momento, seus discípulos voltaram. Ficaram surpresos de encontrá-lo falando com uma mulher, mas nenhum deles se atreveu a perguntar: “O que o senhor quer?” ou “Por que conversa com ela?”. 28 A mulher deixou sua vasilha de água junto ao poço e correu de volta para o povoado, dizendo a todos: 29 “Venham ver um homem que me disse tudo que eu já fiz na vida! Será que não é ele o Cristo?”. 30 Então as pessoas saíram do povoado para vê-lo.
31 Enquanto isso, os discípulos insistiam com Jesus: “Rabi, coma alguma coisa”.
32 Ele, porém, respondeu: “Eu tenho um tipo de alimento que vocês não conhecem”.
33 Os discípulos perguntaram uns aos outros: “Será que alguém lhe trouxe comida?”.
34 Então Jesus explicou: “Meu alimento consiste em fazer a vontade daquele que me enviou e em terminar a sua obra. 35 Vocês não costumam dizer: ‘Ainda faltam quatro meses para a colheita’? Mas eu lhes digo: despertem e olhem em volta. Os campos estão maduros para a colheita. 36 Os que colhem já recebem salário, e os frutos que ajuntam são as pessoas que passam a ter a vida eterna. Que alegria espera tanto o que semeia como o que colhe! 37 Vocês conhecem o ditado: ‘Um semeia e outro colhe’. E é verdade. 38 Eu envio vocês para colher onde não semearam; outros realizaram o trabalho, e agora vocês ajuntarão a colheita”.
Muitos samaritanos creem
39 Muitos samaritanos do povoado creram em Jesus por causa daquilo que a mulher relatou: “Ele me disse tudo que eu já fiz!”. 40 Quando saíram para vê-lo, insistiram que ficasse no povoado. Jesus permaneceu ali dois dias, 41 e muitos outros ouviram sua palavra e creram. 42 Então disseram à mulher: “Agora cremos, não apenas por causa do que você nos contou, mas porque nós mesmos o ouvimos. Agora sabemos que ele é, de fato, o Salvador do mundo”.
Jesus cura o filho de um oficial
43 Depois daqueles dois dias, Jesus partiu para a Galileia. 44 Ele mesmo tinha dito que um profeta não é honrado em sua própria terra. 45 Mas, uma vez que os galileus haviam estado em Jerusalém para a festa da Páscoa e visto tudo que Jesus fizera, eles o receberam.
46 Enquanto Jesus viajava pela Galileia, chegou a Caná, onde tinha transformado água em vinho. Perto dali, em Cafarnaum, havia um oficial do governo cujo filho estava muito doente. 47 Quando soube que Jesus viera da Judeia para a Galileia, foi até ele e suplicou que fosse a Cafarnaum para curar seu filho, que estava à beira da morte.
48 Jesus exclamou: “Jamais crerão, a menos que vejam sinais e maravilhas!”.
49 O oficial implorou: “Senhor, por favor, venha antes que meu filho morra”.
50 “Volte!”, disse Jesus. “Seu filho viverá.” O homem creu nas palavras de Jesus e partiu para casa.
51 Enquanto estava a caminho, alguns de seus servos vieram a seu encontro com a notícia de que seu filho estava vivo e bem. 52 Ele perguntou quando o menino havia começado a melhorar, e eles responderam: “Ontem à tarde, à uma hora, a febre subitamente desapareceu!”. 53 Então o pai percebeu que havia sido naquele exato momento que Jesus tinha dito: “Seu filho viverá”. E o oficial e todos de sua casa creram em Jesus. 54 Esse foi o segundo sinal que Jesus realizou na Galileia, depois que veio da Judeia.

4 When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John,
2 (Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,)
3 He left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee.
4 And he must needs go through Samaria.
5 Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.
6 Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.
7 There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.
8 (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)
9 Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.
10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?
12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?
13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
15 The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.
16 Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.
17 The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:
18 For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.
19 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.
20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.
21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.
22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.
26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.
27 And upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked with the woman: yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why talkest thou with her?
28 The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men,
29 Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?
30 Then they went out of the city, and came unto him.
31 In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat.
32 But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of.
33 Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat?
34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
36 And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.
37 And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.
38 I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.
39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did.
40 So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days.
41 And many more believed because of his own word;
42 And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.
43 Now after two days he departed thence, and went into Galilee.
44 For Jesus himself testified, that a prophet hath no honour in his own country.
45 Then when he was come into Galilee, the Galilaeans received him, having seen all the things that he did at Jerusalem at the feast: for they also went unto the feast.
46 So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum.
47 When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death.
48 Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.
49 The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die.
50 Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.
51 And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Thy son liveth.
52 Then enquired he of them the hour when he began to amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.
53 So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house.
54 This is again the second miracle that Jesus did, when he was come out of Judaea into Galilee.
