17 Después de que Jesús dijera esto, dirigió la mirada al cielo y oró así:
«Padre, ha llegado la hora. Glorifica a tu Hijo, para que tu Hijo te glorifique a ti, 2 ya que le has conferido autoridad sobre todo mortal para que él les conceda vida eterna a todos los que le has dado. 3 Y esta es la vida eterna: que te conozcan a ti, el único Dios verdadero, y a Jesucristo, a quien tú has enviado. 4 Yo te he glorificado en la tierra, y he llevado a cabo la obra que me encomendaste. 5 Y ahora, Padre, glorifícame en tu presencia con la gloria que tuve contigo antes de que el mundo existiera.

6 »A los que me diste del mundo les he revelado quién eres.[a] Eran tuyos; tú me los diste y ellos han obedecido tu palabra. 7 Ahora saben que todo lo que me has dado viene de ti, 8 porque les he entregado las palabras que me diste, y ellos las aceptaron; saben con certeza que salí de ti, y han creído que tú me enviaste. 9 Ruego por ellos. No ruego por el mundo, sino por los que me has dado, porque son tuyos. 10 Todo lo que yo tengo es tuyo, y todo lo que tú tienes es mío; y por medio de ellos he sido glorificado. 11 Ya no voy a estar por más tiempo en el mundo, pero ellos están todavía en el mundo, y yo vuelvo a ti.
»Padre santo, protégelos con el poder de tu nombre, el nombre que me diste, para que sean uno, lo mismo que nosotros. 12 Mientras estaba con ellos, los protegía y los preservaba mediante el nombre que me diste, y ninguno se perdió sino aquel que nació para perderse, a fin de que se cumpliera la Escritura.
13 »Ahora vuelvo a ti, pero digo estas cosas mientras todavía estoy en el mundo, para que tengan mi alegría en plenitud. 14 Yo les he entregado tu palabra, y el mundo los ha odiado porque no son del mundo, como tampoco yo soy del mundo. 15 No te pido que los quites del mundo, sino que los protejas del maligno. 16 Ellos no son del mundo, como tampoco lo soy yo. 17 Santifícalos en la verdad; tu palabra es la verdad. 18 Como tú me enviaste al mundo, yo los envío también al mundo. 19 Y por ellos me santifico a mí mismo, para que también ellos sean santificados en la verdad.

20 »No ruego solo por estos. Ruego también por los que han de creer en mí por el mensaje de ellos, 21 para que todos sean uno. Padre, así como tú estás en mí y yo en ti, permite que ellos también estén en nosotros, para que el mundo crea que tú me has enviado. 22 Yo les he dado la gloria que me diste, para que sean uno, así como nosotros somos uno: 23 yo en ellos y tú en mí. Permite que alcancen la perfección en la unidad, y así el mundo reconozca que tú me enviaste y que los has amado a ellos tal como me has amado a mí.
24 »Padre, quiero que los que me has dado estén conmigo donde yo estoy. Que vean mi gloria, la gloria que me has dado porque me amaste desde antes de la creación del mundo.
25 »Padre justo, aunque el mundo no te conoce, yo sí te conozco, y estos reconocen que tú me enviaste. 26 Yo les he dado a conocer quién eres, y seguiré haciéndolo, para que el amor con que me has amado esté en ellos, y yo mismo esté en ellos».

17 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:
2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.
5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
6 I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.
7 Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.
8 For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.
9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.
10 And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.
11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.
12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
13 And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.
14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.
25 O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.

The High Priestly Prayer
17 When Jesus had spoken these words, (A)he lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, “Father, (B)the hour has come; (C)glorify your Son that the Son may (D)glorify you, 2 since (E)you have given him authority over all flesh, (F)to give eternal life to all (G)whom you have given him. 3 (H)And this is eternal life, (I)that they know you, (J)the only (K)true God, and (L)Jesus Christ whom you have sent. 4 I (M)glorified you on earth, (N)having accomplished the work that you gave me to do. 5 And now, Father, (O)glorify me in your own presence with the glory (P)that I had with you (Q)before the world existed.

17 ଯୀଶୁ ଏସମସ୍ତ କଥା କହିସାରିବା ପରେ ସ୍ୱର୍ଗ ଆଡ଼େ ଗ୍ଭହିଁଲେ। ସେ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କଲେ, “ହେ ପରମପିତା, ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ସମୟ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହୋଇଛି। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆପଣା ପୁତ୍ରଙ୍କୁ ଗୌରବାନ୍ୱିତ କରିଦିଅ, ଯେପରି ପୁତ୍ର ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଗୌରବାନ୍ୱିତ କରି ପାରିବେ। 2 ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ଉପରେ କ୍ଷମତା ଦେଇଛ। ଯେପରି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଯେଉଁମାନଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ଦେଇଛ, ସେସମସ୍ତଙ୍କୁ ସେହି ପୁତ୍ର ଅନନ୍ତ ଜୀବନ ଦିଅନ୍ତି। 3 ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯେ ଏକମାତ୍ର ସତ୍ୟ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର, ତୁମ୍ଭଙ୍କୁ ଓ ଯାହାଙ୍କୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ପଠାଇଛ, ସେହି ଯୀଶୁ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟଙ୍କୁ ଜାଣିବା ହିଁ ଅନନ୍ତ ଜୀବନ ଅଟେ। 4 ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୋତେ ଯେଉଁ କାମ ଦେଇଥିଲ ତାହା ମୁଁ କରିସାରିଛି। ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଏ ସଂସାରରେ ଗୌରବାନ୍ୱିତ କରିଛି। 5 ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ପରମପିତା ତୁମ୍ଭର ଉପସ୍ଥିତିରେ ମୋତେ ଗୌରବାନ୍ୱିତ କର। ଜଗତ ଆରମ୍ଭ ହେବା ପୂର୍ବରୁ, ମୋର ତୁମ୍ଭ ସହିତ ଯେଉଁ ଗୌରବ ଥିଲା, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୋତେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ସହିତ ଗୌରବାନ୍ୱିତ କର।
6 “ତୁମ୍ଭେ ପୃଥିବୀର କେତେକ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ମୋତେ ଦେଲ। 7 ମୁଁ ସେମାନଙ୍କଠାରେ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ପ୍ରକାଶ କରିଛି। ସେମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଥିଲେ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ମୋତେ ଦେଲ। ସେମାନେ ଜାଣନ୍ତି, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୋତେ ଯାହାସବୁ ଦେଇଛ, ସେ ସବୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପାଖରୁ ଆସେ। 8 ମୋତେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯେଉଁ ଉପଦେଶ ଦେଇଥିଲ, ମୁଁ ସେହି ଉପଦେଶ ଏହି ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ଦେଇଛି। ସେମାନେ ତାହା ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିଛନ୍ତି। ସେମାନେ ଜାଣି ପାରିଲେ ଯେ, ମୁଁ ପ୍ରକୃତରେ ତୁମ୍ଭଠାରୁ ଆସିଛି ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୋତେ ପଠାଇଛ ବୋଲି ସେମାନେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କରିଛନ୍ତି। 9 ମୁଁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ଏବେ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରୁଛି। ମୁଁ ପୃଥିବୀର ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରୁ ନାହିଁ। ମୁଁ ସେହିମାନଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରୁଛି, ଯେଉଁମାନଙ୍କୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୋତେ ଦେଇଥିଲ। କାରଣ ସେମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଅଟନ୍ତି। 10 ମୋର ଯାହାସବୁ ଅଛି, ସବୁ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଏବଂ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଯାହା ଅଛି, ସବୁ ମୋର। ଏହି ଲୋକମାନେ ମୋତେ ଗୌରବାନ୍ୱିତ କରନ୍ତି।
11 “ମୁଁ ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପାଖକୁ ଆସୁଛି। ମୁଁ ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ଜଗତରେ ଆଉ ରହିବି ନାହିଁ। କିନ୍ତୁ ଏହି ଲୋକମାନେ ଜଗତରେ ରହିଛନ୍ତି। ହେ ପବିତ୍ର ପରମପିତା, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ନିରାପଦରେ ରଖ। ତୁମ୍ଭ ନାମର ଶକ୍ତି ଦ୍ୱାରା ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ନିରାପଦରେ ରଖ ଯେପରି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଓ ମୁଁ ଏକ, ସେମାନେ ସେହିପରି ଏକ ହୋଇ ପାରିବେ। 12 ମୁଁ ଯେତେବେଳେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଥିଲି, ମୁଁ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ନିରାପଦରେ ରଖିଥିଲି। ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ନାମର ଶକ୍ତି ବଳରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ନିରାପଦରେ ରଖିଥିଲି। ସେହି ନାମ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୋତେ ଦେଇଥିଲ। ମୁଁ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ସୁରକ୍ଷିତ କଲି। ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଭିତରୁ କେବଳ ଜଣେ ବିନାଶ ପାଇଁ ଉଦ୍ଧିଷ୍ଟ ଥିଲା। ଧର୍ମଶାସ୍ତ୍ର ଯେପରି ସଫଳ ହୁଏ ସେଥିପାଇଁ ସେ ନଷ୍ଟ ହେଲା।
13 “ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପାଖକୁ ଏବେ ଆସୁଛି। କିନ୍ତୁ ମୁଁ ଜଗତରେ ଥାଉ ଥାଉ ଏହିସବୁ ପାଇଁ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରୁଛି। ମୁଁ ଏହିସବୁ କହେ, ଯେପରି ଏହି ଲୋକମାନେ ମୋ'ଠାରେ ଥିବା ଆନନ୍ଦ ପାଇ ପାରିବେ। ମୁଁ ଗ୍ଭହେଁ, ସେମାନେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଭିତରେ ମୋର ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଆନନ୍ଦ ପାଆନ୍ତୁ। 14 ମୁଁ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଉପଦେଶ ଦେଇଅଛି। ଆଉ ଏହି ଜଗତର ଲୋକମାନେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଘୃଣା କରନ୍ତି। କାରଣ ସେମାନେ ଜଗତର ନୁହନ୍ତି ଓ ଯେପରି ମୁଁ ମଧ୍ୟ ଏହି ଜଗତରୁ ଉତ୍ପନ୍ନ ନୁହେଁ।
15 “ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଜଗତରୁ ନେଇଯିବା ପାଇଁ କହୁ ନାହିଁ। ମୁଁ ତୁମକୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ପାପାତ୍ମା ଶୟତାନଠାରୁ ନିରାପଦରେ ରଖିବା ପାଇଁ କହୁଛି। 16 ମୁଁ ଯେପରି ଜଗତର ନୁହେଁ, ସେମାନେ ସେହିପରି ଏହି ଜଗତର ନୁହନ୍ତି। 17 ତେଣୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ସତ୍ୟ ଦ୍ୱାରା ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ତୁମ୍ଭର ସେବା ପାଇଁ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କରାଅ। ତୁମ୍ଭର ଉପଦେଶ ହେଉଛି ସତ୍ୟ। 18 ମୁଁ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଜଗତ ମଧ୍ୟକୁ ପଠାଇ ଦେଇଛି ଯେପରି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୋତେ ଏହି ଜଗତକୁ ପଠାଇଲ। 19 ମୁଁ ନିଜକୁ ସେବା ପାଇଁ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କରୁଛି। ମୁଁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ଏହା କରୁଛି ଯେହେତୁ ସେମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ସେବା ପାଇଁ ପ୍ରକୃତରେ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ ହୋଇପାରିବେ।
20 “ମୁଁ ଏହି ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରେ ଓ ଏହି ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କର ଶିକ୍ଷା ହେତୁ ମୋ'ଠାରେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କରିବାକୁ ଯାଉଥିବା ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ମଧ୍ୟ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରୁଛି। 21 ହେ ପରମପିତା, ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭଠାରେ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରେ ଯେପରି ମୋ’ ଉପରେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ ରଖୁଥିବା ଲୋକମାନେ ଏକ ହୋଇପାରିବେ। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୋ'ଠାରେ ରହିଛ ଓ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭଠାରେ ଅଛି। ମୁଁ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରେ, ଏହି ଲୋକମାନେ ଆମ୍ଭଠାରେ ଯେପରି ଏକ ହୋଇ ପାରିବେ। ତଦ୍ଦ୍ୱାରା ଜଗତ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କରିବ, ଯେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୋତେ ପଠାଇଅଛ। 22 ମୋତେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯେଉଁ ଗୌରବ ଦେଇଥିଲ, ମୁଁ ତାହା ଏହି ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦେଇଛି। ଏହି ଗୌରବ ଦେବାର କାରଣ ହେଉଛି ଯେ, ଯେପରି ‘ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଓ ମୁଁ ଏକ, ସେହିପରି ସେମାନେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଏକ ହୋଇପାରିବେ।’ 23 ମୁଁ ସେମାନଙ୍କଠାରେ ରହିବି ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୋ'ଠାରେ ରହିବ। ତେଣୁ ସେମାନେ ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଭାବେ ଏକ ହୋଇପାରିବେ। ତାହାହେଲେ ଏହି ଜଗତ ଜାଣି ପାରିବ ଯେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୋତେ ପଠାଇଛ। ଏ ଜଗତ ଜାଣିବ ଯେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୋତେ ଯେପରି ପ୍ରେମ କରୁଥିଲ ଠିକ୍ ସେହିପରି ଏହି ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ପ୍ରେମ କରୁଛ।
24 “ହେ ପରମପିତା, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୋତେ ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦେଇଛ, ମୁଁ ଗ୍ଭହେଁ, ମୁଁ ଥିବା ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ସ୍ଥାନରେ ସେମାନେ ମୋ’ ସହିତ ରୁହନ୍ତୁ। ମୁଁ ଇଚ୍ଛା କରେ, ସେମାନେ ମୋର ଗୌରବ ଦେଖନ୍ତୁ। ଏହି ଗୌରବ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୋତେ ଦେଇଛ, କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ପୃଥିବୀ ସୃଷ୍ଟି ହେବା ପୂର୍ବରୁ ମୋତେ ପ୍ରେମ କଲ। 25 ହେ ପରମପିତା ତୁମ୍ଭେ ହେଉଛ ଉତ୍ତମ। ଏହି ଜଗତ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଚିହ୍ନି ନାହିଁ କିନ୍ତୁ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଚିହ୍ନେ। ଏହି ଲୋକମାନେ ଜାଣନ୍ତି ଯେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୋତେ ପଠାଇଛ। 26 ତୁମ୍ଭେ କିପରି ତାହା ମୁଁ ସେମାନଙ୍କଠାରେ ପ୍ରକାଶ କରିଛି। ଏବଂ ପୁନର୍ବାର ସେମାନଙ୍କଠାରେ ପ୍ରକାଶ କରିବି। ତା'ପରେ ମୋ’ ପ୍ରତି ତୁମ୍ଭର ଯେପରି ପ୍ରେମ ରହିଛି, ସେହିପରି ପ୍ରେମ ତାହାଙ୍କଠାରେ ରହିବ ଓ ମୁଁ ସେମାନଙ୍କଠାରେ ବାସ କରିବି।”
