⁹ and said to the men: ^(A)“I know that the Lord has given you the land, that ^(B)the terror of you has fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land ^(C)are fainthearted because of you.

²⁷ “I will send ^(A)My fear before you, I will ^(B)cause confusion among all the people to whom you come, and will make all your enemies turn their backs to you.

^25 (A)This day I will begin to put the dread and fear of you upon the nations ^[a]under the whole heaven, who shall hear the report of you, and shall ^(B)tremble and be in anguish because of you.’

By Faith We Understand

11 Now faith is the ^[a]substance of things hoped for, the ^[b]evidence ^(A)of things not seen. ² For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.

^5 (A)‘I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are on the ground, by My great power and by My outstretched arm, and ^(B)have given it to whom it seemed proper to Me.

^12 (A)Though a sinner does evil a hundred times, and his days are prolonged, yet I surely know that ^(B)it will be well with those who fear God, who fear before Him.

¹¹ And as soon as we ^(A)heard these things, ^(B)our hearts melted; neither did there remain any more courage in anyone because of you, for ^(C)the Lord your God, He is God in heaven above and on earth beneath.
