New International Version
Division of the Land
12 Of the land that we took over at that time, I gave the Reubenites and the Gadites the territory north of Aroer(A) by the Arnon Gorge, including half the hill country of Gilead, together with its towns. 13 The rest of Gilead and also all of Bashan, the kingdom of Og, I gave to the half-tribe of Manasseh.(B) (The whole region of Argob in Bashan used to be known as a land of the Rephaites.(C) 14 Jair,(D) a descendant of Manasseh, took the whole region of Argob as far as the border of the Geshurites and the Maakathites;(E) it was named(F) after him, so that to this day Bashan is called Havvoth Jair.[a]) 15 And I gave Gilead to Makir.(G) 16 But to the Reubenites and the Gadites I gave the territory extending from Gilead down to the Arnon Gorge (the middle of the gorge being the border) and out to the Jabbok River,(H) which is the border of the Ammonites. 17 Its western border was the Jordan in the Arabah,(I) from Kinnereth(J) to the Sea of the Arabah(K) (that is, the Dead Sea(L)), below the slopes of Pisgah.

Numbers 32:29-42
New International Version
29 He said to them, “If the Gadites and Reubenites, every man armed for battle, cross over the Jordan with you before the Lord, then when the land is subdued before you,(A) you must give them the land of Gilead as their possession.(B) 30 But if they do not cross over(C) with you armed, they must accept their possession with you in Canaan.(D)”
31 The Gadites and Reubenites answered, “Your servants will do what the Lord has said.(E) 32 We will cross over before the Lord into Canaan armed,(F) but the property we inherit will be on this side of the Jordan.(G)”
33 Then Moses gave to the Gadites,(H) the Reubenites and the half-tribe of Manasseh(I) son of Joseph the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites(J) and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan(K)—the whole land with its cities and the territory around them.(L)
34 The Gadites built up Dibon, Ataroth, Aroer,(M) 35 Atroth Shophan, Jazer,(N) Jogbehah,(O) 36 Beth Nimrah(P) and Beth Haran as fortified cities, and built pens for their flocks.(Q) 37 And the Reubenites rebuilt Heshbon,(R) Elealeh(S) and Kiriathaim,(T) 38 as well as Nebo(U) and Baal Meon (these names were changed) and Sibmah.(V) They gave names to the cities they rebuilt.
39 The descendants of Makir(W) son of Manasseh went to Gilead,(X) captured it and drove out the Amorites(Y) who were there. 40 So Moses gave Gilead to the Makirites,(Z) the descendants of Manasseh, and they settled there. 41 Jair,(AA) a descendant of Manasseh, captured their settlements and called them Havvoth Jair.[a](AB) 42 And Nobah captured Kenath(AC) and its surrounding settlements and called it Nobah(AD) after himself.(AE)
