²¹ Judgment has come to the plateau^(A)—
    to Holon,^(B) Jahzah^(C) and Mephaath,^(D)
22     to Dibon,^(E) Nebo^(F) and Beth Diblathaim,
²³     to Kiriathaim,^(G) Beth Gamul and Beth Meon,^(H)
24     to Kerioth^(I) and Bozrah^(J)—
    to all the towns^(K) of Moab, far and near.

⁷ Therefore the Moabites wail,^(A)
    they wail together for Moab.
Lament and grieve
    for the raisin cakes^(B) of Kir Hareseth.^(C)
8 The fields of Heshbon^(D) wither,^(E)
    the vines of Sibmah^(F) also.
The rulers of the nations
    have trampled down the choicest vines,^(G)
which once reached Jazer^(H)
    and spread toward the desert.
Their shoots spread out^(I)
    and went as far as the sea.^[a](J)
9 So I weep,^(K) as Jazer weeps,
    for the vines of Sibmah.
Heshbon and Elealeh,^(L)
    I drench you with tears!^(M)
The shouts of joy^(N) over your ripened fruit
    and over your harvests^(O) have been stilled.

⁴ Heshbon^(A) and Elealeh^(B) cry out,
    their voices are heard all the way to Jahaz.^(C)
Therefore the armed men of Moab cry out,
    and their hearts are faint.

Ar^(D) in Moab is ruined,^(E)
    destroyed in a night!
Kir^(F) in Moab is ruined,
    destroyed in a night!
² Dibon^(G) goes up to its temple,
    to its high places^(H) to weep;
    Moab wails^(I) over Nebo^(J) and Medeba.
Every head is shaved^(K)
    and every beard cut off.^(L)
