³⁷ I know that you are offspring of Abraham; yet ^(A)you seek to kill me because my word finds no place in you.

¹⁴ The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are ^(A)folly to him, and ^(B)he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.

⁴⁵ But because I tell the truth, you do not believe me. ⁴⁶ Which one of you convicts me of sin? If I tell the truth, why do you not believe me? ^47 (A)Whoever is of God hears the words of God. ^(B)The reason why you do not hear them is that ^(C)you are not of God.”

⁷ and not all are children of Abraham ^(A)because they are his offspring, but ^(B)“Through Isaac shall your offspring be named.”

7 After this Jesus went about in Galilee. He would not go about in Judea, because ^(A)the Jews^[a] were seeking to kill him.

⁵⁹ So ^(A)they picked up stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple.

²⁶ “Brothers, sons of the family of Abraham, and those among you ^(A)who fear God, to us has been sent ^(B)the message of ^(C)this salvation.

^43 (A)Why do you not understand what I say? It is because you cannot ^(B)bear to hear my word.

³⁹ Therefore they ^(A)could not believe. For again Isaiah said,

⁴¹ Isaiah said these things because ^(D)he saw his glory and ^(E)spoke of him. ⁴² Nevertheless, ^(F)many even of the authorities believed in him, but ^(G)for fear of the Pharisees they did not ^(H)confess it, so that they would not be ^(I)put out of the synagogue; ^43 (J)for they loved the glory that comes from man more than the glory that comes from God.
