Christ’s Death Fulfills God’s Will(A)

Therefore, when He came into the world, He said:

(B)“Sacrifice and offering You did not desire,
But a body You have prepared for Me.
In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin
You had no pleasure.
Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come—
In the volume of the book it is written of Me—
To do Your will, O God.’ ”

Previously saying, “Sacrifice and offering, burnt offerings, and offerings for sin You did not desire, nor had pleasure in them” (which are offered according to the law), then He said, “Behold, I have come to do Your will, [a]O God.” He takes away the first that He may establish the second. 10 (C)By that will we have been [b]sanctified (D)through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Christ’s Death Perfects the Sanctified

52 The Jews therefore (A)quarreled among themselves, saying, “How can this Man give us His flesh to eat?”

53 Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless (B)you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. 54 (C)Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. 55 For My flesh is [a]food indeed, and My blood is [b]drink indeed. 56 He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood (D)abides in Me, and I in him. 57 As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me. 58 (E)This is the bread which came down from heaven—not (F)as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead.
