⁸ But ^(A)God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

⁴ But God, ^(A)who is rich in mercy, because of His ^(B)great love with which He loved us,

¹⁶ Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, ^(A)who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation and ^(B)good hope by grace,

^9 (A)In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten ^(B)Son into the world, that we might live through Him.

¹⁰ In this is love, ^(A)not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son ^(B)to be the propitiation for our sins.

⁵ and from Jesus Christ, ^(A)the faithful ^(B)witness, the ^(C)firstborn from the dead, and ^(D)the ruler over the kings of the earth.

To Him ^(E)who ^[a]loved us ^(F)and washed us from our sins in His own blood,
