¹⁴ When the people saw the sign that he had done, they said, ^(A)“This is indeed ^(B)the Prophet ^(C)who is to come into the world!”

^15 (D)Perceiving then that they were about to come and take him by force to make him king, Jesus ^(E)withdrew again to ^(F)the mountain by himself.

²² Is it lawful for us to give ^(A)tribute to ^(B)Caesar, or not?” ²³ But he perceived their ^(C)craftiness, and said to them, ²⁴ “Show me ^(D)a denarius.^[a] Whose likeness and inscription does it have?” They said, “Caesar's.” ²⁵ He said to them, “Then ^(E)render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's.” ²⁶ And they were not able in the presence of the people ^(F)to catch him in what he said, but marveling at his answer they became silent.
