²⁶ For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life^(A) in himself. ²⁷ And he has given him authority to judge^(B) because he is the Son of Man.

²⁸ “Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming^(C) when all who are in their graves will hear his voice ²⁹ and come out—those who have done what is good will rise to live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned.^{(D) 30} By myself I can do nothing;^(E) I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just,^(F) for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me.^(G)

²⁷ For the Son of Man^(A) is going to come^(B) in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done.^(C)

⁶ God “will repay each person according to what they have done.”^{[a](A) 7} To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor^(B) and immortality,^(C) he will give eternal life.^{(D) 8} But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil,^(E) there will be wrath and anger.^{(F) 9} There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil:^(G) first for the Jew, then for the Gentile;^{(H) 10} but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.^(I)

¹⁰ For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us^(A) for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.

⁸ Whoever sows to please their flesh,^(A) from the flesh will reap destruction;^(B) whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.^(C)

⁹ The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise,^(A) as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient^(B) with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.^(C)
