⁹ At once the man was made well, and he took up his mat and began to walk.

Now that day was a Sabbath.^(A)

⁷ And he took him by the right hand and raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles were made strong. ⁸ Jumping up, he stood and began to walk, and he entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God.

¹⁴ Now it was a Sabbath day when Jesus made the mud and opened his eyes.^(A)

Jesus Heals a Crippled Woman

¹⁰ Now he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. ¹¹ And just then there appeared a woman with a spirit that had crippled her for eighteen years. She was bent over and was quite unable to stand up straight. ¹² When Jesus saw her, he called her over and said, “Woman, you are set free from your ailment.” ¹³ When he laid his hands on her, immediately she stood up straight and began praising God.^{(A) 14} But the leader of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus had cured on the Sabbath, kept saying to the crowd, “There are six days on which work ought to be done; come on those days and be cured and not on the Sabbath day.”^{(B) 15} But the Lord answered him and said, “You hypocrites! Does not each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from the manger and lead it to water?^{(C) 16} And ought not this woman, a daughter of Abraham whom Satan bound for eighteen long years, be set free from this bondage on the Sabbath day?”^(D)

² They were watching him to see whether he would cure him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse him.^{(A) 3} And he said to the man who had the withered hand, “Come forward.” ⁴ Then he said to them, “Is it lawful to do good or to do harm on the Sabbath, to save life or to kill?” But they were silent.

⁵² Jesus said to him, “Go; your faith has made you well.” Immediately he regained his sight and followed him on the way.^(A)

⁴¹ Taking her by the hand, he said to her, “Talitha koum,” which means, “Little girl, get up!” ⁴² And immediately the girl stood up and began to walk about (she was twelve years of age). At this they were overcome with amazement.

²⁹ Immediately her flow of blood stopped, and she felt in her body that she was healed of her disease.

⁴² Immediately the skin disease left him, and he was made clean.

³¹ He came and took her by the hand and lifted her up. Then the fever left her, and she began to serve them.
