³⁶ “I have testimony weightier than that of John.^(A) For the works that the Father has given me to finish—the very works that I am doing^(B)—testify that the Father has sent me.^(C)

²⁵ Jesus answered, “I did tell you,^(A) but you do not believe. The works I do in my Father’s name testify about me,^(B)

⁹ We accept human testimony,^(A) but God’s testimony is greater because it is the testimony of God,^(B) which he has given about his Son.

²⁴ If I had not done among them the works no one else did,^(A) they would not be guilty of sin.^(B) As it is, they have seen, and yet they have hated both me and my Father.

³⁷ Do not believe me unless I do the works of my Father.^{(A) 38} But if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.”^(B)

³⁰ The man answered, “Now that is remarkable! You don’t know where he comes from, yet he opened my eyes. ³¹ We know that God does not listen to sinners. He listens to the godly person who does his will.^{(A) 32} Nobody has ever heard of opening the eyes of a man born blind. ³³ If this man were not from God,^(B) he could do nothing.”

²³ Now while he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Festival,^(A) many people saw the signs^(B) he was performing and believed^(C) in his name.^[a]

² He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi,^(A) we know^(B) that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs^(C) you are doing if God were not with him.”^(D)

¹¹ And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life,^(A) and this life is in his Son.^{(B) 12} Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.^(C)
