²⁹ and come out, ^(A)those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.

² And many of those who ^(A)sleep in ^(B)the dust of the earth shall ^(C)awake, ^(D)some to everlasting life, and ^(E)some to shame and everlasting contempt. ^3 (F)And those who are wise ^(G)shall shine like the brightness of the sky above;^[a] and ^(H)those who turn many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.

^6 (A)He will render to each one according to his works: ⁷ to those who ^(B)by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life; ⁸ but for those who are self-seeking^[a] and ^(C)do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury. ⁹ There will be tribulation and distress ^(D)for every human being who does evil, the Jew ^(E)first and also the Greek, ¹⁰ but glory and honor and ^(F)peace for everyone who does good, ^(G)the Jew first and also the Greek.

^15 (A)having ^(B)a hope in God, which these men themselves accept, that there will be ^(C)a resurrection ^(D)of both the just and the unjust.

¹⁴ and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. For you will be repaid ^(A)at ^(B)the resurrection of the just.”

The Final Judgment

^31 (A)“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, ^(B)then he will sit on his glorious throne. ³² Before him ^(C)will be gathered ^(D)all the nations, and ^(E)he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates ^(F)the sheep from the goats. ³³ And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. ³⁴ Then ^(G)the King will say to ^(H)those on his right, ‘Come, you ^(I)who are blessed by my Father, ^(J)inherit ^(K)the kingdom ^(L)prepared for you ^(M)from the foundation of the world. ³⁵ For ^(N)I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you ^(O)gave me drink, ^(P)I was a stranger and you welcomed me, ^36 (Q)I was naked and you clothed me, ^(R)I was sick and you ^(S)visited me, ^(T)I was in prison and you came to me.’ ³⁷ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? ³⁸ And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? ³⁹ And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ ⁴⁰ And ^(U)the King will answer them, ^(V)‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these ^(W)my brothers,^[a] you did it to me.’

⁴¹ “Then he will say to those on his left, ^(X)‘Depart from me, you ^(Y)cursed, into ^(Z)the eternal fire prepared for ^(AA)the devil and his angels. ⁴² For ^(AB)I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, ⁴³ I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ ⁴⁴ Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ ⁴⁵ Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, ^(AC)you did not do it to me.’ ⁴⁶ And these will go away ^(AD)into eternal punishment, but the righteous ^(AE)into ^(AF)eternal life.”

¹⁸ They are to do good, ^(A)to be rich in good works, to be generous and ^(B)ready to share,

⁸ For ^(A)the one who sows to his own flesh ^(B)will from the flesh reap corruption, but ^(C)the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. ⁹ And ^(D)let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, ^(E)if we do not give up. ¹⁰ So then, ^(F)as we have opportunity, let us ^(G)do good to everyone, and especially to those who are ^(H)of the household of faith.
