^36 (A)He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the ^(B)wrath of God abides on him.”

Life and Judgment Are Through the Son

²⁴ “Most assuredly, I say to you, ^(A)he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, ^(B)but has passed from death into life.

¹² But ^(A)as many as received Him, to them He gave the ^[a]right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:

⁹ For ^(A)God did not appoint us to wrath, ^(B)but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

⁶ Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

¹⁵ that whoever ^(A)believes in Him should ^[a]not perish but ^(B)have eternal life. ^16 (C)For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten ^(D)Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

¹⁰ He who believes in the Son of God ^(A)has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God ^(B)has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. ¹¹ And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. ^12 (C)He who has the Son has ^[a]life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. ¹³ These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, ^[b]and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.

¹⁷ For ^(A)in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, ^(B)“The just shall live by faith.”

God’s Wrath on Unrighteousness

^18 (C)For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and ^(D)unrighteousness of men, who ^[a]suppress the truth in unrighteousness,

⁹ Much more then, having now been justified ^(A)by His blood, we shall be saved ^(B)from wrath through Him.
