¹⁶ “For God so ^(A)loved the world, that He ^(B)gave His ^(C)only Son, so that everyone who ^(D)believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life. ¹⁷ For God ^(E)did not send the Son into the world ^(F)to judge the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him.

⁸ But God ^(A)demonstrates ^(B)His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, ^(C)Christ died for us.

⁸ The one who does not love does not know God, because ^(A)God is love. ⁹ By this the love of God was revealed ^[a](B)in us, that ^(C)God has sent His only Son into the world so that we may live through Him.
