^23 (A)If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you withhold forgiveness from any, it is withheld.”

¹⁸ Truly, I say to you, ^(A)whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed^[a] in heaven.

¹⁹ I will give you ^(A)the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and ^(B)whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed^[a] in heaven.”

⁶ For such a one, ^(A)this punishment by the majority is enough, ⁷ so ^(B)you should rather turn to forgive and comfort him, or he may be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow. ⁸ So I beg you to reaffirm your love for him. ⁹ For this is why I wrote, that I might ^(C)test you and know ^(D)whether you are obedient in everything. ¹⁰ Anyone whom you forgive, I also forgive. Indeed, what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, has been for your sake in the presence of Christ,

³⁸ Let it be known to you therefore, brothers, ^(A)that through this man ^(B)forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, ³⁹ and by him ^(C)everyone who believes is freed^[a] from everything ^(D)from which you could not be freed by the law of Moses.

^43 (A)To him ^(B)all the prophets bear witness that ^(C)everyone who believes in him receives ^(D)forgiveness of sins ^(E)through his name.”

³⁸ And Peter said to them, ^(A)“Repent and ^(B)be baptized every one of you ^(C)in the name of Jesus Christ ^(D)for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive ^(E)the gift of the Holy Spirit.

⁵ And when Jesus ^(A)saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Son, ^(B)your sins are forgiven.” ⁶ Now some of the scribes were sitting there, questioning in their hearts, ⁷ “Why does this man speak like that? ^(C)He is blaspheming! ^(D)Who can forgive sins but God alone?” ⁸ And immediately Jesus, ^(E)perceiving in his spirit that they thus questioned within themselves, said to them, “Why do you question these things in your hearts? ⁹ Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Rise, take up your bed and walk’? ¹⁰ But that you may know that ^(F)the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—he said to the paralytic—

²⁰ among whom are ^(A)Hymenaeus and ^(B)Alexander, whom I ^(C)have handed over to Satan that they may learn not to ^(D)blaspheme.
