Jesus Appears to the Disciples

^19 (A)On the evening ^(B)of that day, the first day of the week, ^(C)the doors being locked where the disciples were ^(D)for fear of the Jews,^[a] Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, ^(E)“Peace be with you.” ²⁰ When he had said this, ^(F)he showed them his hands and his side. Then ^(G)the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. ²¹ Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As ^(H)the Father has sent me, ^(I)even so I am sending you.” ²² And when he had said this, he ^(J)breathed on them and said to them, ^(K)“Receive the Holy Spirit. ^23 (L)If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you withhold forgiveness from any, it is withheld.”

¹⁴ For ^(A)he himself is our peace, ^(B)who has made us both one and has broken down ^(C)in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility ¹⁵ by abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ^(D)ordinances, that he might create in himself one ^(E)new man in place of the two, so making peace, ¹⁶ and might ^(F)reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility. ¹⁷ And he came and ^(G)preached peace to you who were ^(H)far off and peace to those who were ^(I)near. ¹⁸ For ^(J)through him we both have ^(K)access in ^(L)one Spirit to the Father.

⁷ then the Lord God formed the man of ^(A)dust from the ground and ^(B)breathed into his ^(C)nostrils the breath of life, and ^(D)the man became a living creature.

^23 (A)For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

^13 (A)Greater love has no one than this, ^(B)that someone lay down his life for his friends.
