Scripture Fulfilled—It Is Finished

28 After this, Jesus, (A)knowing that all things had already been finished, (B)in order [a]to finish the Scripture, *said, (C)I am thirsty.” 29 A jar full of sour wine was standing there; so (D)they put a sponge full of the sour wine upon a branch of hyssop and brought it up to His mouth. 30 Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, (E)It is finished!” And bowing His head, He (F)gave up His spirit.

Jesus Dies on the Cross(A)

28 After this, when Jesus realized that everything was now completed, he said (in order to fulfill the Scripture), “I’m thirsty.” 29 A jar of sour wine was standing there, so they put a sponge full of the wine on a branch of hyssop and held it to his mouth. 30 After Jesus had taken the wine, he said, “It is finished.” Then he bowed his head and released his spirit.
