12 As a result of this Pilate kept seeking to release Him, but the Jews cried out saying, “(A)If you release this man, you are no friend of Caesar; everyone who makes himself to be a king [a]opposes Caesar.”

13 Therefore when Pilate heard these words, he brought Jesus out, and (B)sat down on the judgment seat at a place called [b]The Stone Pavement, but (C)in [c]Hebrew, Gabbatha. 14 Now it was (D)the day of [d]Preparation for the Passover; it was about the [e](E)sixth hour. And he *said to the Jews, “Behold, (F)your King!” 15 So they cried out, “(G)Away with Him! Away with Him! Crucify Him!” Pilate *said to them, “Shall I crucify your King?” The chief priests answered, “We have no king but Caesar.”

13 When Pilate heard these words, he brought Jesus outside. He sat down on the judge’s seat in a place called the Stone Pavement (but in Aramaic,[b] Gabbatha). 14 It was the preparation day for the Passover, and it was about noon.[c] Then he told the Jews, “Here is your king!”

15 They shouted, “Take him away! Take him away! Crucify him!”

Pilate said to them, “Should I crucify your king?”

“We have no king but Caesar!” the chief priests answered.

16 Then he handed him over to be crucified.
