¹⁷ and ^(A)he went out, ^(B)bearing his own cross, to the place called The Place of a Skull, which in Aramaic is called Golgotha.

^33 (A)And when they came to the place that is called The Skull, there they crucified him, and the criminals, ^(B)one on his right and one on his left.

^27 (A)Whoever does not ^(B)bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple.

The Crucifixion

^26 (A)And as they led him away, they seized one Simon of Cyrene, who was coming in from the country, and laid on him the cross, to carry it behind Jesus.

¹¹ For ^(A)the bodies of those animals whose blood is brought into the holy places by the high priest as a sacrifice for sin are burned ^(B)outside the camp. ¹² So Jesus also ^(C)suffered ^(D)outside the gate in order to sanctify the people ^(E)through his own blood. ¹³ Therefore let us go to him outside the camp and bear ^(F)the reproach he endured.

⁵⁸ Then ^(A)they cast him out of the city and ^(B)stoned him. And ^(C)the witnesses laid down their garments ^(D)at the feet of a young man named Saul.

³² Let ^(A)the Christ, ^(B)the King of Israel, come down now from the cross that we may ^(C)see and believe.” ^(D)Those who were crucified with him also reviled him.

^38 (A)There was also an inscription over him,^[a] “This is ^(B)the King of the Jews.”

Take Up Your Cross and Follow Jesus

²³ And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him ^(A)deny himself and ^(B)take up his cross ^(C)daily and follow me.
