^14 (A)I have given them your word, and ^(B)the world has hated them ^(C)because they are not of the world, ^(D)just as I am not of the world. ¹⁵ I ^(E)do not ask that you ^(F)take them out of the world, but that you ^(G)keep them from ^(H)the evil one.^[a]

^25 (A)So that disciple, ^(B)leaning back against Jesus, said to him, “Lord, who is it?” ²⁶ Jesus answered, ^(C)“It is he to whom I will give this morsel of bread ^(D)when I have dipped it.” So when he had dipped the morsel, ^(E)he gave it to Judas, ^(F)the son of Simon Iscariot. ²⁷ Then after he had taken the morsel, ^(G)Satan entered into him. Jesus said to him, ^(H)“What you are going to do, do quickly.” ²⁸ Now no one at the table knew why he said this to him. ²⁹ Some thought that, ^(I)because Judas had the moneybag, Jesus was telling him, “Buy what we need ^(J)for the feast,” or that he should ^(K)give something to the poor. ³⁰ So, after receiving the morsel of bread, he immediately went out. ^(L)And it was night.

³⁰ I will no longer talk much with you, for ^(A)the ruler of this world is coming. ^(B)He has no claim on me,

¹⁸ We know that ^(A)everyone who has been born of God does not keep on sinning, but ^(B)he who was born of God ^(C)protects him, and the evil one does not touch him.

³⁵ Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? ³⁶ As it is written,

³⁷ No, in all these things we are more than ^(C)conquerors through ^(D)him who loved us. ³⁸ For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, ³⁹ nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
