The High Priestly Prayer

17 When Jesus had spoken these words, ^(A)he lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, “Father, ^(B)the hour has come; ^(C)glorify your Son that the Son may ^(D)glorify you,

A New Commandment

³¹ When he had gone out, Jesus said, ^(A)“Now is the Son of Man glorified, and ^(B)God is glorified in him. ³² If God is glorified in him, ^(C)God will also glorify him in himself, and ^(D)glorify him at once.

^9 (A)Therefore ^(B)God has ^(C)highly exalted him and bestowed on him ^(D)the name that is above every name, ¹⁰ so that at the name of Jesus ^(E)every knee should bow, ^(F)in heaven and on earth and under the earth, ¹¹ and ^(G)every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is ^(H)Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

⁴ I ^(A)glorified you on earth, ^(B)having accomplished the work that you gave me to do. ⁵ And now, Father, ^(C)glorify me in your own presence with the glory ^(D)that I had with you ^(E)before the world existed.

²³ And Jesus answered them, ^(A)“The hour has come ^(B)for the Son of Man to be glorified.

^13 (A)The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, ^(B)the God of our fathers, ^(C)glorified his servant^[a] Jesus, whom ^(D)you delivered over and ^(E)denied in the presence of Pilate, ^(F)when he had decided to release him.

The Son of Man Must Be Lifted Up

^27 (A)“Now is my soul troubled. And what shall I say? ‘Father, ^(B)save me from ^(C)this hour’? But ^(D)for this purpose I have come to ^(E)this hour. ²⁸ Father, glorify your name.” Then ^(F)a voice came from heaven: “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.”

³⁹ Now ^(A)this he said about the Spirit, ^(B)whom those who believed in him were to receive, ^(C)for as yet the Spirit had not been ^(D)given, ^(E)because Jesus was not yet glorified.

^21 (A)who through him are believers in God, ^(B)who raised him from the dead and ^(C)gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.
