⁹ concerning sin, ^(A)because they do not believe in me;

²² “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, ^(A)a man attested to you by God ^(B)with ^(C)mighty works and wonders and signs that ^(D)God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know— ²³ this Jesus,^{[a] (E)}delivered up according to ^(F)the definite plan and ^(G)foreknowledge of God, ^(H)you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men. ^24 (I)God raised him up, loosing the pangs of death, because ^(J)it was not possible for him to be held by it. ²⁵ For David says concerning him,

²⁹ “Brothers, I may say to you with confidence about ^(Q)the patriarch David ^(R)that he both died and ^(S)was buried, and ^(T)his tomb is with us to this day. ^30 (U)Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that ^(V)God had sworn with an oath to him that he would set one of his descendants on his throne, ³¹ he foresaw and spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that ^(W)he was not abandoned to Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption. ³² This Jesus ^(X)God raised up, ^(Y)and of that we all are witnesses. ^33 (Z)Being therefore ^(AA)exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from ^(AB)the Father ^(AC)the promise of the Holy Spirit, ^(AD)he has poured out this that you yourselves are seeing and hearing. ³⁴ For ^(AE)David did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself says,

³⁶ Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that ^(AG)God has made him ^(AH)both Lord and Christ, this Jesus ^(AI)whom you crucified.”

³⁷ Now when ^(AJ)they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, ^(AK)what shall we do?” ³⁸ And Peter said to them, ^(AL)“Repent and ^(AM)be baptized every one of you ^(AN)in the name of Jesus Christ ^(AO)for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive ^(AP)the gift of the Holy Spirit.

²² If I had not come and spoken to them, ^(A)they would not have been guilty of sin,^[a] but now they have no excuse for their sin. ^23 (B)Whoever hates me hates my Father also. ^24 (C)If I had not done among them the works that no one else did, ^(D)they would not be guilty of sin, but now they have ^(E)seen and hated both me and my Father. ²⁵ But ^(F)the word that is written in their Law must be fulfilled: ^(G)‘They hated me without a cause.’

⁴⁷ If anyone ^(A)hears my words and does not keep them, ^(B)I do not judge him; for ^(C)I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. ^48 (D)The one who rejects me and does not receive my words has a judge; ^(E)the word that I have spoken will judge him ^(F)on the last day.

^16 (A)Whoever believes and is ^(B)baptized ^(C)will be saved, but ^(D)whoever ^(E)does not believe will be condemned.

¹² Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from ^(A)the living God.

¹⁴ But you denied ^(A)the Holy and ^(B)Righteous One, and ^(C)asked for a murderer to be granted to you, ¹⁵ and you killed ^(D)the Author of life, ^(E)whom God raised from the dead. To this we are witnesses. ¹⁶ And ^(F)his name—by ^(G)faith in his name—has made this man strong whom you see and know, and the faith that is ^(H)through Jesus^[a] has given the man this perfect health in the presence of you all.

¹⁷ “And now, brothers, I know that ^(I)you acted in ignorance, as did also your rulers. ¹⁸ But what God ^(J)foretold ^(K)by the mouth of all the prophets, that ^(L)his Christ would ^(M)suffer, he thus fulfilled. ^19 (N)Repent therefore, and ^(O)turn back, that ^(P)your sins may be blotted out,

⁴² Jesus said to them, ^(A)“If God were your Father, you would love me, for ^(B)I came from God and ^(C)I am here. ^(D)I came not of my own accord, but ^(E)he sent me. ^43 (F)Why do you not understand what I say? It is because you cannot ^(G)bear to hear my word. ^44 (H)You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. ^(I)He was a murderer from the beginning, and ^(J)does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. ^(K)When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies. ⁴⁵ But because I tell the truth, you do not believe me. ⁴⁶ Which one of you convicts me of sin? If I tell the truth, why do you not believe me? ^47 (L)Whoever is of God hears the words of God. ^(M)The reason why you do not hear them is that ^(N)you are not of God.”

²³ He said to them, ^(A)“You are from below; I am from above. ^(B)You are of this world; ^(C)I am not of this world. ²⁴ I told you that you ^(D)would die in your sins, for ^(E)unless you believe that ^(F)I am he you will die in your sins.”
