Тайната вечеря
13 (A)А преди празника Пасха Исус, като знаеше, че е настанал часът Му да премине от този свят към Отца, като беше възлюбил Своите, които бяха на света, докрай ги възлюби.
2 (B)И когато беше готова вечерята, като дяволът вече беше внушил в сърцето на Юда Симонов Искариотски да Го предаде,
3 (C)Исус, като знаеше, че Отец е предал всичко в ръцете Му и че от Бога е излязъл и при Бога отива,
4 (D)стана от вечерята, свали горните Си дрехи, взе престилка и я препаса.
5 После наля вода в умивалника и започна да мие краката на учениците и да ги изтрива с престилката, с която беше препасан.
6 (E)И когато стигна до Симон Петър, той каза: Господи, Ти ли ще ми умиеш краката?
7 (F)Исус му отговори: Това, което Аз правя, ти сега не осъзнаваш, но после ще разбереш.
8 (G)Петър Му каза: Ти няма да умиеш краката ми вовеки. Исус му отговори: Ако не те умия, нямаш дял с Мене.
9 Симон Петър каза: Господи, не само краката ми, но и ръцете ми и главата ми.
10 (H)Исус му каза: Който се е окъпал, няма нужда да умие друго освен краката си, а целият е чист; и вие сте чисти, но не всички.
11 (I)Защото Той знаеше кой щеше да Го предаде; затова и каза: Не всички сте чисти.
12 А като уми краката им и си взе горните дрехи, седна пак и им каза: Знаете ли какво направих?
13 (J)Вие Ме наричате Учител и Господ; и право казвате, защото съм такъв.
14 (K)И така, ако Аз, Господ и Учител, ви умих краката, то и вие сте длъжни един на друг да си миете краката.
15 (L)Защото ви дадох пример да правите и вие, както Аз направих на вас.
16 (M)Истина, истина ви казвам, слугата не е по-горен от господаря си, нито пратеникът е по-горен от онзи, който го е изпратил.
17 (N)Като знаете това, блажени сте, ако го изпълнявате.
18 (O)Не говоря за всички вас; Аз зная кои съм избрал; но това стана, за да се изпълни писаното: „Който яде хляба Ми, той вдигна своята пета против Мен.“
19 (P)Отсега ви казвам това нещо, преди да е станало, та когато стане, да повярвате, че Аз съм Този, за Когото ви говорих.
20 (Q)Истина, истина ви казвам: Който приеме онзи, когото Аз пращам, Мене приема; и който приема Мене, приема Този, Който Ме е пратил.
Исус предсказва, че ще бъде предаден
21 (R)Като каза това, Исус се развълнува в духа Си и засвидетелства: Истина, истина ви казвам, един от вас ще Ме предаде.
22 Учениците се спогледаха помежду си, като недоумяваха за кого говори.
23 (S)А на трапезата един от учениците, когото Исус обичаше, се беше облегнал на скута на Исус.
24 Затова Симон Петър му кимна и му каза: Кажи ни за кого говори.
25 А той, както се беше облегнал на скута на Исус, се обърна и Му каза: Господи, кой е той?
26 Исус отговори: Той е онзи, за когото ще натопя залъка и ще му го дам. И така, като натопи залъка, взе и го подаде на Юда Симонов Искариотски.
27 (T)И тогава, след залъка, Сатана влезе в него. Тогава Исус му каза: Каквото вършиш, върши го по-скоро.
28 А никой от седящите на трапезата не разбра защо му каза това;
29 (U)защото някои мислеха, понеже Юда държеше касата[a], че Исус му казва: Купи каквото ни трябва за празника, или: Дай нещо на сиромасите.
30 И така, като прие залъка, Юда веднага излезе; а беше нощ.
Новата заповед за любовта
31 (V)А когато излезе, Исус каза: Сега се прослави Човешкият Син и Бог се прослави в Него;
32 (W)и Бог ще Го прослави в Себе Си, и скоро ще Го прослави.
33 (X)Дечица, още малко съм с вас. Ще Ме търсите и както казах на юдеите, така и на вас казвам сега – където отивам Аз, вие не можете да дойдете.
34 (Y)Нова заповед ви давам, да се обичате един друг; както Аз ви възлюбих, така и вие да се обичате един друг.
35 (Z)По това ще познаят всички, че сте Мои ученици, ако имате любов помежду си.
Исус предсказва отричането на Петър
36 (AA)Симон Петър Му каза: Господи, къде отиваш? Исус отговори: Където Аз отивам, ти сега не можеш да дойдеш, но по-късно ще дойдеш.
37 Петър Му каза: Господи, защо да не мога да Те последвам сега? Живота[b] си ще дам за Теб.
38 (AB)Исус отговори: Живота[c] си ли ще дадеш за Мен? Истина, истина ти казвам: Петелът няма да е пропял, преди да си се отрекъл три пъти от Мене.

Jesus Washes the Disciples’ Feet
13 [a]Now before the feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that his hour had come to depart out of this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end. 2 And during supper, when the devil had already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray him, 3 Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he had come from God and was going to God, 4 rose from supper, laid aside his garments, and girded himself with a towel. 5 Then he poured water into a basin, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which he was girded. 6 He came to Simon Peter; and Peter said to him, “Lord, do you wash my feet?” 7 Jesus answered him, “What I am doing you do not know now, but afterward you will understand.” 8 Peter said to him, “You shall never wash my feet.” Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no part in me.” 9 Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, not my feet only but also my hands and my head!” 10 Jesus said to him, “He who has bathed does not need to wash, except for his feet,[b] but he is clean all over; and you are clean, but not all of you.” 11 For he knew who was to betray him; that was why he said, “You are not all clean.”
12 When he had washed their feet, and taken his garments, and resumed his place, he said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you? 13 You call me Teacher and Lord; and you are right, for so I am. 14 If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. 15 For I have given you an example, that you also should do as I have done to you. 16 Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant[c] is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him. 17 If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them. 18 I am not speaking of you all; I know whom I have chosen; it is that the scripture may be fulfilled, ‘He who ate my bread has lifted his heel against me.’ 19 I tell you this now, before it takes place, that when it does take place you may believe that I am he. 20 Truly, truly, I say to you, he who receives any one whom I send receives me; and he who receives me receives him who sent me.”
Jesus Foretells His Betrayal
21 When Jesus had thus spoken, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, “Truly, truly, I say to you, one of you will betray me.” 22 The disciples looked at one another, uncertain of whom he spoke. 23 One of his disciples, whom Jesus loved, was lying close to the breast of Jesus; 24 so Simon Peter beckoned to him and said, “Tell us who it is of whom he speaks.” 25 So lying thus, close to the breast of Jesus, he said to him, “Lord, who is it?” 26 Jesus answered, “It is he to whom I shall give this morsel when I have dipped it.” So when he had dipped the morsel, he gave it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot. 27 Then after the morsel, Satan entered into him. Jesus said to him, “What you are going to do, do quickly.” 28 Now no one at the table knew why he said this to him. 29 Some thought that, because Judas had the money box, Jesus was telling him, “Buy what we need for the feast”; or, that he should give something to the poor. 30 So, after receiving the morsel, he immediately went out; and it was night.
The New Commandment
31 When he had gone out, Jesus said, “Now is the Son of man glorified, and in him God is glorified; 32 if God is glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself, and glorify him at once. 33 Little children, yet a little while I am with you. You will seek me; and as I said to the Jews so now I say to you, ‘Where I am going you cannot come.’ 34 A new commandment[d] I give to you, that you love one another; even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
Jesus Foretells Peter’s Denial
36 Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, where are you going?” Jesus answered, “Where I am going you cannot follow me now; but you shall follow afterward.” 37 Peter said to him, “Lord, why cannot I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you.” 38 Jesus answered, “Will you lay down your life for me? Truly, truly, I say to you, the cock will not crow, till you have denied me three times.
