Jesus Predicts Peter’s Denial^(A)

³¹ When he was gone, Jesus said, “Now the Son of Man^(B) is glorified^(C) and God is glorified in him.^(D)

¹¹ If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God.^(A) If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides,^(B) so that in all things God may be praised^(C) through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.^(D)

¹³ And I will do whatever you ask^(A) in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

³⁹ By this he meant the Spirit,^(A) whom those who believed in him were later to receive.^(B) Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.^(C)

⁹ And they sang a new song, saying:^(A)

¹¹ Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand.^(H) They encircled the throne and the living creatures^(I) and the elders.^{(J) 12} In a loud voice they were saying:

¹³ Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth^(N) and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying:

¹⁴ The four living creatures^(R) said, “Amen,”^(S) and the elders^(T) fell down and worshiped.^(U)

²¹ Through him you believe in God,^(A) who raised him from the dead^(B) and glorified him,^(C) and so your faith and hope^(D) are in God.

⁵ In the same way, Christ did not take on himself the glory^(A) of becoming a high priest.^(B) But God said^(C) to him,

⁶ And he says in another place,

⁷ During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions^(G) with fervent cries and tears^(H) to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard^(I) because of his reverent submission.^{(J) 8} Son^(K) though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered^{(L) 9} and, once made perfect,^(M) he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him

¹⁴ having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness,^(A) which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.^{(B) 15} And having disarmed the powers and authorities,^(C) he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them^(D) by the cross.^[a]
