¹⁷ Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.^(A)

²⁸ He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God^(A) and obey it.”^(B)

¹⁷ If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.^(A)

²⁵ But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom,^(A) and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.^(B)

The Wise and Foolish Builders^(A)

²⁴ “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice^(B) is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. ²⁵ The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.

²⁷ And I will put my Spirit^(A) in you and move you to follow my decrees^(B) and be careful to keep my laws.^(C)

¹⁴ “Blessed are those who wash their robes,^(A) that they may have the right to the tree of life^(B) and may go through the gates^(C) into the city.^(D)

⁴⁷ “The servant who knows the master’s will and does not get ready or does not do what the master wants will be beaten with many blows.^{(A) 48} But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows.^(B) From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.

¹⁶ Moses did everything just as the Lord commanded^(A) him.
