Christ’s Example to Be Followed

4 Therefore, since Christ suffered ^[a]for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin,

³⁵ I have shown you in every way, ^(A)by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”

¹³ For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only ^(A)do not use liberty as an ^(B)opportunity for the flesh, but ^(C)through love serve one another.

^26 (A)But not so among you; on the contrary, ^(B)he who is greatest among you, let him be as the younger, and he who governs as he who serves. ^27 (C)For who is greater, he who sits at the table, or he who serves? Is it not he who sits at the table? Yet ^(D)I am among you as the One who serves.

⁸ though He was a Son, yet He learned ^(A)obedience by the things which He suffered. ⁹ And ^(B)having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him,

^2 (A)fulfill my joy ^(B)by being like-minded, having the same love, being of ^(C)one accord, of one mind. ^3 (D)Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but ^(E)in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. ^4 (F)Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of ^(G)others.

The Humbled and Exalted Christ

^5 (H)Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, ⁶ who, ^(I)being in the form of God, did not consider it ^[a]robbery to be equal with God, ^7 (J)but ^[b]made Himself of no reputation, taking the form ^(K)of a bondservant, and ^(L)coming in the likeness of men. ⁸ And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and ^(M)became ^(N)obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.

Bear and Share Burdens

6 Brethren, if a man is ^[a]overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of ^(A)gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. ^2 (B)Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill ^(C)the law of Christ.
