¹³ “You call me ‘Teacher’^(A) and ‘Lord,’^(B) and rightly so, for that is what I am.

The Wise and Foolish Builders^(A)

⁴⁶ “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’^(B) and do not do what I say?^(C)

³ Therefore I want you to know that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus be cursed,”^(A) and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,”^(B) except by the Holy Spirit.^(C)

²⁸ After she had said this, she went back and called her sister Mary aside. “The Teacher^(A) is here,” she said, “and is asking for you.”

⁸ If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.^{(A) 9} For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life^(B) so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.^(C)

⁸ What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing^(A) Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ^(B)

⁶ yet for us there is but one God,^(A) the Father,^(B) from whom all things came^(C) and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord,^(D) Jesus Christ, through whom all things came^(E) and through whom we live.

¹⁴ because I know that I will soon put it aside,^(A) as our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me.^{(B) 15} And I will make every effort to see that after my departure^(C) you will always be able to remember these things.

¹⁶ For we did not follow cleverly devised stories when we told you about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in power,^(D) but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.^(E)
