^11 (A)For he knew who was to betray him; that was why he said, “Not all of you are clean.”

²⁶ Jesus answered, ^(A)“It is he to whom I will give this morsel of bread ^(B)when I have dipped it.” So when he had dipped the morsel, ^(C)he gave it to Judas, ^(D)the son of Simon Iscariot.

²⁵ and needed no one to bear witness about man, for ^(A)he himself knew what was in man.

One of You Will Betray Me

²¹ After saying these things, ^(A)Jesus was troubled in his spirit, and testified, ^(B)“Truly, truly, I say to you, ^(C)one of you will betray me.”

^18 (A)I am not speaking of all of you; I know ^(B)whom I have chosen. But ^(C)the Scripture will be fulfilled,^{[a] (D)}‘He who ate my bread has lifted his heel against me.’

² During supper, when ^(A)the devil had already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him,

⁶⁴ But ^(A)there are some of you who do not believe.” (For Jesus ^(B)knew from the beginning who those were who did not believe, and ^(C)who it was who would betray him.) ⁶⁵ And he said, “This is why I told you ^(D)that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father.”

^66 (E)After this many of his disciples turned back and no longer walked with him. ⁶⁷ So Jesus said to ^(F)the twelve, “Do you want to go away as well?” ⁶⁸ Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have ^(G)the words of eternal life, ⁶⁹ and ^(H)we have believed, and have come to know, that ^(I)you are ^(J)the Holy One of God.” ⁷⁰ Jesus answered them, ^(K)“Did I not choose you, ^(L)the twelve? And yet one of you is ^(M)a devil.” ⁷¹ He spoke of Judas ^(N)the son of Simon Iscariot, for ^(O)he, one of the twelve, was going to betray him.

²⁴ The Son of Man goes ^(A)as it is written of him, but ^(B)woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! ^(C)It would have been better for that man if he had not been born.” ²⁵ Judas, who would betray him, answered, “Is it I, ^(D)Rabbi?” He said to him, ^(E)“You have said so.”

^12 (A)While I was with them, I kept them in your name, which you have given me. I have ^(B)guarded them, and ^(C)not one of them has been lost except ^(D)the son of destruction, ^(E)that the Scripture might be fulfilled.
