¹³ They took palm branches^(A) and went out to meet him, shouting,

³ and sang the song of God’s servant^(A) Moses^(B) and of the Lamb:^(C)

³⁵ They brought it to Jesus, threw their cloaks on the colt and put Jesus on it. ³⁶ As he went along, people spread their cloaks^(A) on the road.

³⁷ When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives,^(B) the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen:

⁹ The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted,

¹⁰ When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?”

¹¹ The crowds answered, “This is Jesus, the prophet^(D) from Nazareth in Galilee.”

The Great Multitude in White Robes

⁹ After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language,^(A) standing before the throne^(B) and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes^(C) and were holding palm branches in their hands.

⁸ Many people spread their cloaks on the road, while others spread branches they had cut in the fields. ⁹ Those who went ahead and those who followed shouted,

⁴⁹ Then Nathanael declared, “Rabbi,^(A) you are the Son of God;^(B) you are the king of Israel.”^(C)

³⁹ For I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’^[a]”^(A)
