³⁶ So the Jews said, “See ^(A)how he loved him!”

³ So the sisters sent to him, saying, “Lord, ^(A)he whom you love is ill.”

⁵ and from Jesus Christ ^(A)the faithful witness, ^(B)the firstborn of the dead, and ^(C)the ruler of kings on earth.

To ^(D)him who loves us and ^(E)has freed us from our sins by his blood

⁹ In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that ^(A)God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. ¹⁰ In this is love, ^(B)not that we have loved God ^(C)but that he loved us and sent his Son to be ^(D)the propitiation for our sins.

3 See ^(A)what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called ^(B)children of God; and so we are. The reason why ^(C)the world does not know us is that ^(D)it did not know him.

^25 (A)Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and ^(B)gave himself up for her,

^8 (A)I say this not as a command, but to prove by the earnestness of others that your love also is genuine. ⁹ For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ^(B)though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich.

And ^(C)he who loves me ^(D)will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and ^(E)manifest myself to him.” ^22 (F)Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, “Lord, how is it ^(G)that you will manifest yourself to us, and not to the world?” ²³ Jesus answered him, ^(H)“If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and ^(I)we will come to him and ^(J)make our home with him.

² And ^(A)walk in love, ^(B)as Christ loved us and ^(C)gave himself up for us, a ^(D)fragrant ^(E)offering and sacrifice to God.
