21 “Lord,” Martha said to Jesus, “if you had been here, my brother would not have died.(A) 22 But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask.”(B)

23 Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.”

24 Martha answered, “I know he will rise again in the resurrection(C) at the last day.”(D)

25 Jesus said to her, “I am(E) the resurrection and the life.(F) The one who believes(G) in me will live, even though they die; 26 and whoever lives by believing(H) in me will never die.(I) Do you believe this?”

27 “Yes, Lord,” she replied, “I believe that you are the Messiah,(J) the Son of God,(K) who is to come into the world.”(L)

I saw the Holy City,(A) the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,(B) prepared as a bride(C) beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them.(D) They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.(E) ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes.(F) There will be no more death’[a](G) or mourning or crying or pain,(H) for the old order of things has passed away.”(I)

He who was seated on the throne(J) said, “I am making everything new!”(K) Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”(L)

He said to me: “It is done.(M) I am the Alpha and the Omega,(N) the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost(O) from the spring of the water of life.(P) Those who are victorious(Q) will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children.(R)
